It must be pointed out that the Pollards’ arrival was not without controversy. There have been idiotic politicians on the Israeli left who have ludicrously said that they should not come to Israel because it might antagonize the incoming Biden Administration in Washington.
Antagonize Joe Biden? Really?
We here at OneIsrael like the vast majority of Israelis rejoice with Jonathan and Esther and hope they will at last find peace here in their country.
The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona (Covid-19) update . . .
Here are the numbers over the last 24 hours (from 8 am yesterday until 8 am today):
412,398 Israelis have been confirmed with the virus since the pandemic began last March.
There are 5,113 newly confirmed cases.
623 are in critical condition—an increase of 31
158 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—an increase of 24
3,256 have died–an increase of 30
There are currently 39,989 active Corona cases in Israel.
More than 5000 new cases, more than 600 critically ill, 30 more dead, and another spike in active cases: none of the Corona news is good.
Despite these numbers, Israel has now vaccinated more than 500,000 of our citizens–and “only” 2 people have apparently died from the vaccination.
Israel Attacks in Syria Again . . .
As you can see, the attack location was near the Syrian-Lebanese border. The targets were weapons storehouses there as well as a convoy ferrying more Iranian weapons to Hezbollah.
Is she the most beautiful woman in the world? . . .
Yael Shelbia Cohen, Israeli fashion model and actress, has just been named the most beautiful woman in the world by the TC Candler Independent Critics List.
What an anomaly she is!
A religiously orthodox woman who currently serves in the Israeli Air Force, Yael was ranked the 3rd most beautiful in 2018 and 2nd most beautiful in 2019. This year she reached the top.
The 19-year-old uses her middle name Shelbia as her professional last name because she believes it protects her from the evil eye–her family being from the island of Dzerba off the coast of Tunisia.
One of the most interesting stories about her is how she had to live on kosher crackers during a 4-day photo shoot in Milan because no other kosher food could be found for her to eat. Now she takes kosher food with her wherever she goes.
By the way, another Israeli–none other than Wonder Woman Gal Gadot— is number 17 on the Candler list.
