The Quote of the Day
“We are on a slippery slope to control the lives of people like a military regime: curfew, electronic handcuffs, transfer of private medical information, restriction of entry and movement of people who have not been vaccinated. Netanyahu is creating two states–the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.”
Knesset member MK Yifat Shasha Bitton
Bitton’s comments echo what many Israelis are now thinking. Will we ever recover the freedoms we had before the institution of so many government restrictions? It is beginning to seem that personal freedom and the right to privacy are a thing of the past–both sacrificed on the altar of stopping the spread of Corona.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
A Palestinian stabbing attack was thwarted in eastern Jerusalem when police noticed a suspicious person. Upon arrest, the 27-year-old terrorist declared that he wanted to stab a policeman because his mother had died.
Palestinian Molotov and “rock” attacks occurred throughout Judea and Samaria at such locations as on the Gush Etzion-Hevron road, near Al-Abud, beside Luban A-Sharqiya, and at various locations along Road 443.
According to the The Palestinian Media Institute, the PLO spent more than 512 million shekels on the salaries of terrorists imprisoned in Israel and the families of dead terrorists in 2020.

An estimated 4.5 million have now received at least one dose of vaccine.
Even as more people are vaccinated, the number of newly confirmed cases is creeping upward again. Fortunately, the number of critically ill continues to decrease, and the number of daily dead remains relatively low.
The Health Ministry reported this morning that 222,000 Israelis over the age of 50 have not yet been vaccinated including 90,000 Israeli-Arabs and 32,000 ultra-orthodox.
The Palestinians overturn the Balfour Declaration . . .
In what can only be described as the court of the absurd, a Palestinian court in Shechem (Nablus) ruled yesterday against the 1917 Balfour Declaration.
The so-called trial, which actually was a lawsuit brought by Palestinian billionaire Munib Al-Masri, has been going on since November and featured testimony from “poor Palestinian families” who lost their property to “Zionist gangs” when they fled during Israel’s War of Independence.
Of course, we all know that those families fled at the urging of their leaders with the promise that they would not only retain their land but also get that of the “Jews.”
The Court’s ruling holds “the UK legally responsible for the consequences arising from violating rules, morals and international law and for the crimes it committed during the colonization of Palestine, including the Balfour Declaration”.
Following the “decision”, the International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSRP) plans to take the case to British and international courts.
It is all just plain pathetic.

“A Real Right-Wing Government”? Netanyahu’s Latest Joke
“We, the leaders of the Knesset parties, undertake to form a joint government together in order to realize a special opportunity to form a real right-wing government. A vote for any other party will result in a left-wing government led by Lapid. We call on the public to vote for us and not miss a single opportunity to form a full right-wing government.”
Believe it or not, this is the loyalty oath that Benjamin Netanyahu demanded Shas, United Torah Judaism, and the National Union Parties sign a few days ago–-at the very same time that he was negotiating with the PLO.
Trying to cement a voting block via a loyalty oath before elections is Netanyahu’s technique to thwart anyone else becoming prime minister. However, this time he has not proven as successful as in the past. Shas and UTJ have signed the oath, but National Union refuses to go along. If current polls are correct, Netanyahu’s new block would only have about 45 seats.
But “a real right-wing government”? Who is kidding whom? If someone wants to vote for a real right-wing government, he or she should vote for the Yamina Party.
The idea that Benjamin Netanyahu is interested in a right-wing government is a joke. Benjamin Netanyahu is only interested in Benjamin Netanyahu holding on to power.
