The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
A Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab a Jewish community member at the large Yitzhar Junction. Unfortunately the terrorist escaped into nearby Huwara where a manhunt is underway. Click here to see the attempted stabbing this morning.
Palestinian terrorists struck with “rocks” and Molotovs throughout Judea and Samaria–especially in Gush Etzion. There are no reports of Israelis being physically wounded.
The daily Corona (Covid-19) update . . .
Please note that these numbers encompass from 8 pm yesterday to 8 pm today (Wednesday):
761,551 Israelis have been confirmed with the virus since the pandemic began last March.
There are 4,401 newly confirmed cases.
795 are in critical condition—a decrease of 2
259 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—an increase of 11
5,648 have died–an increase of 44
There are currently 42,045 active Corona cases in Israel.
An estimated 4.5 million have now received at least one dose of vaccine.
The positive test rate yesterday was 6.1%. The coefficient of infection rose to 0.9.
Israel’s overabundance of vaccine . . .
It is striking how some places in the world–notably the United States–have a dire shortage of vaccine while Israel is practically swimming in it.
Yesterday, Israel announced that it will be supplying vaccine that we Israelis have purchased to 19 countries including Cyprus, Mauritania, Hungary, Honduras, Guatemala, the Czech Republic, the Maldives, San Marino, Ethiopia, Chad, Kenya, Uganda, and Guinea and more.
Not that we will be supplying that much: each country will receive somewhere between 1,000 and 5,000 Moderna vaccine doses.

The Corona impact on the Israeli worker continues to worsen . . .
The Central Bureau of Statistics recorded 127,700 new job seekers during January, an increase of 56.4% compared to December. That brought the total number of unemployed who are supposedly looking for a job to 823,600 at the end of the month.
We say “supposedly” because one problem these days is that the unemployment benefits being doled out by the government until June are so generous that not only are people not wanting to get off of unemployment payments, but there are actually people now clamoring to get on unemployment.
Political topsy turvy . . .
As we have noted in previous blogs here at OneIsrael, the March election result promises to produce even more chaos than ever before because instead merely “left” vs “right”, we now have “left” vs “right” mixed in with anti-Netanyahu and pro-Netanyahu.
For example two of the parties leading the anti-Netanyahu charge are on the right: Gideon Sa’ar’s New Hope Party and Naftali Bennett’s Yamina Party.
This morning, the leading Party in the anti-Netanyahu group, Yair Lapid’s left-central Yesh Atid Party, said that both New Hope and Yamina would join it in a Coalition government led by Lapid after the election.
Whereupon both Sa’ar and Bennett both dashed to the microphone to proclaim that they will not be in any Coalition led by Lapid.
As we said, chaos is imminent.

Iran Fills Its Terror Coffers As Sanctions End
As we all know by now, the Biden Administration is hell-bent on cozying up to the Iranian regime and has announced that it will end many of the sanctions that the Trump Administration placed on the ayatollahs.
Other countries around the world are rushing to do the same.
An interesting case is that of South Korea. You may remember that back on January 10 the Iranian Revolutionary Guards seized a South Korean oil tanker and its 20 man crew in the Strait of Hormuz.
Yesterday, following Iranian FM Zarif’s trip to Seoul, it was announced that the ship and sailors would be released–and that South Korea will release perhaps as much as $7 billion dollars belonging to Iran which have been frozen in South Korean bank accounts because of the Trumpian sanctions.
What has been the reaction of the world to this outright Iranian kidnapping and extortion?
Nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch.
The announcement from Seoul was quickly followed by another announcement from Tehran that additional frozen Iranian funds will now be released by Oman, Iraq, and Japan.
Led by President Biden, we can only imagine how quickly other countries will follow suit.
Once again, the Iranians can crank up their worldwide terror network and go to work.
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
