BREAKING NEWS 12:30 PM: A Palestinian terrorist (possibly 2) opens fire with a machine gun at a bus at the Gitti Avishar Junction near Ariel in Samaria. 8 Israelis wounded: 3 critically, 1 seriously, 4 moderately. The terrorist was shot and killed.

Happy 77th Anniversary!

Dancing in the street in Tel Aviv: November 29, 1947.

On November 29, 1947 the U.N. Nations adopted Resolution 181 (also known as the Partition Resolution) that would divide Great Britain’s former Palestinian mandate into Jewish and Arab states in May 1948 when the British mandate was scheduled to end.

The vote was 33 in favor, 13 against, and 10 abstaining. To see how countries voted, scroll to the bottom of this page. We all know how Jews accepted the partition, and Arabs rejected it.

On the next day, November 30 1947, Arabs ambushed a Jewish bus near Kfar Sirkin killing five and wounding others. 30 minutes later they ambushed a second bus, southbound from Hadera, killing two more, and shots were fired at Jewish buses in Jerusalem and Haifa. Israel’s War for Independence had begun.

UPDATE 8:30 AM ISRAEL TIME

On the Ground in Gaza

The IDF Spokesman:

“The 401st Brigade continues its activity in Jabaliya as part of the 162nd Divisional operation in the area.

A Hamas terrorist was identified attempting to launch rockets at Israeli territory from a structure adjacent to a weapons storage facility, where additional operatives were located. Through swift coordination between the forces on the ground and the divisional fire command, the terrorists were eliminated, and the weapons and rocket storage facility were destroyed.

Operating in a dense, complex, and urban environment, the forces are systematically dismantling terrorist infrastructure and neutralizing numerous explosive devices. Since the beginning of the operation, the soldiers have eliminated terrorists in close-quarters combat and with precise aerial support from the Israeli Air Force.

On the Ground in the North

*As you read the IDF Spokeman’s statement below, you should know that the IDF had to contact the U.S. before every action that was taken by infantry or the IAF. You should also know that the IDF is already fudging the terminology of the Agreement to our detriment classifying violations as “minor” or “major”. In the minor category, unreported below, were warning shots fired over Hezbollah vehicles approaching Kfar Kila which is directly across from Metulla.

The IDF Spokesman:

“Over the past day, several suspicious activities that posed a threat from the Hezbollah terror organization were identified, while breaching the conditions of the ceasefire agreement.

Earlier today, IDF soldiers identified two terrorists arriving at a known terrorist infrastructure site, that had been used to fire dozens of projectiles into Israel over the past month. The IAF struck the terrorists.

Additionally, over the past hours, IDF soldiers operated to prevent the advancing of additional terrorists in southern Lebanon.

The IDF remains in southern Lebanon and acting to enforce violations of the ceasefire agreement.”

*Remember the horrific Hezbollah missile strike back on July 28 which hit a soccer field in Majdal Shams killing 12 children? A number of children were also wounded by the exploding shrapnel.

One of those children, identified only as “Alan” was finally released from the hospital yesterday after 4 months of surgeries and rehab:

Kolakevod to “Alan”!
