On the Ground in Gaza
In what has become the daily drizzle, two more missiles were fired out of Gaza yesterday–this time at Erez:
Erez is home to the Erez Crossing which used to be the crossing through which thousands of Palestinian Gazans traveled everyday to work in Israel. For all intents and purposes, the Crossing has been closed for months.
One day Erez, one day Kissufim, one day Ein Hashlosha, one day Nirim, one day Sderot . . . On the one hand the drizzle seems insignificant, but this is exactly the same drizzle residents along the Gaza border tolerated for years before October 7th.
Yesterday we had Defense Minister Katz on the northern border proclaiming that Israel will no longer tolerate a drizzle of missile fire on the northern border communities—and yet we cannot seem to stop that drizzle on the Gaza border.
*From the IDF Spokesman:
“Troops of the 99th Division have been operating in the Central Gaza Strip Corridor area for the past two weeks.
In targeted strikes, troops of the 990th Brigade eliminated numerous terrorists, including seven terrorists who took part in the October 7th massacre: Abd al-Razzeq, Marzouk al-Hur, Maaz al-Hur, Abd Abu-Awad Yusri, Omar Abu-Abdallah, Ahmed Zahid, and Maad Abu-Garboua.”
We here at OneIsrael include the names of the Palestinian terrorists to point out what has not been pointed out before, namely that Shin Bet, the IDF, and other security agencies have obviously put together a list of the terrorists who invaded Israel on October 7th, and are tracking down and eliminating them one by one–-or in this case 7 at a time.
On the Ground in the North and in Syria
*The IDF spokesman:
“Aircraft of the Air Force attacked and killed earlier today in the Damascus area, under the intelligence direction of the Intelligence Division, the Hezbollah emissary in the Syrian army, Salman Nimr Jama’a.
Jama’a was a key factor on behalf of Hezbollah in the Syrian military system for the transfer of weapons. Among the positions he held was the head of intelligence in the Al-Khiyam sector, then he was the head of operations at Hezbollah’s Damascus headquarters.”
More from the IDF Spokesman:
“The IAF struck Hezbollah terrorists, dozens of launchers, and terrorist infrastructure throughout Lebanon. Additionally, the IAF struck the Hezbollah launcher in the area of Berghoz in southern Lebanon shortly after the launch of the two projectiles toward Mount Dov.
Hezbollah’s launches tonight constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. The State of Israel demands that the relevant parties in Lebanon fulfill their responsibilities and prevent Hezbollah’s hostile activity from within Lebanese territory. The State of Israel remains obligated to the fulfillment of the conditions of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.”
*Elsewhere, the IAF killed a Hezbollah terrorist in a drone attack in the village of Shebaa in southern Lebanon.
*To try to prevent another October 7-style attack from Syria into the Golan Heights, the IDF has established a new elite unit in the Golan consisting of reserve soldiers from special units. The name of the new unit is “Pereh” (“Wild”); some training photos were released yesterday:
*More than 30,000 “Iraqi Shi’ite Popular Mobilization Forces” (an Iranian proxy) have entered Syria in the last 48 hours to back Assad’s army in the Aleppo battles:
What’s to stop them from moving to the Israeli border after Aleppo?
On the Ground in Judea and Samaria
The IAF killed three Hamas terrorists just outside of Aqabah in northern Samaria. The terrorists were on their way to carry out an attack.
*In a major announcement, Minister of Communications Shlomo Karai and Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich that “dozens of new cellular antennas” will be constructed in Judea and Samaria. Aside from the obvious security importance, the cellular towers will further regularize the communities in Judea and Samaria.
Smotrich had this to say:
“We will continue to work to strengthen the communities in Judea and Samaria and prepare the infrastructure for our sovereignty in the land of our ancestors.”
Macron Off The Deep End, Again
After pushing his way into the Lebanon ceasefire, Emmanuel Macron was at it again yesterday in Saudi Arabia.
He announced that he and Prince Mohammed bin Salman will head “a special committee for the establishment of a Palestinian state to be held in June.”
Your humble servant can only laugh at this preposterous idea. In the first place there is already a Palestinian state in Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria, and in the second place, look what has happened to the other Palestinian state in Gaza. The idea that a new Palestinian state will be established on the 1948-9 Armistice Lines is beyond ridiculous.
Kolakevod to the Volunteers!
The number of people volunteering in Israel has jumped dramatically since October 7th of last year.
Leading the way are the ultra-orthodox and religious–42% of their population volunteers.
Secular Israelis are next on the list with 32% volunteering.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics:
“Most volunteers dedicate their time to helping those in need, including the elderly, disabled and youth. 15% work in the field of education, and 12% in the field of health. Another 12% have mobilized to help soldiers, evacuees and farmers.”
And so it goes this morning in Israel . . . so far . . .
