The 5th Day of Chanukah
It is difficult to be “happy” when our soldiers continue falling in battle. We nevertheless wish all a Chag Chanukah Sameach (Happy Chanukah) on this 5th day of the holiday.

Staff Sgt. Yuval Shoham, aged 22, from Jerusalem, a soldier in the 9th Armored Battalion, 401st Iron Tracks Brigade, fell yesterday during combat in northern Gaza.

On the Ground in Gaza
Palestinian Hamas terrorists fired more missiles out of northern Gaza yesterday, early this morning, and in the last hour.
Sderot and the surrounding area were targeted by 6 missiles at 4:26 pm yesterday:
Netiv Ha’Asara and surrounding areas were targeted at 1:01 am this morning:
Even more missiles were fired into Erez (10:06 am) and Nir Am (10:20 am) this morning.
Hamas terrorists are suddenly launching missiles again because the Nahal Brigade Combat Team is closing in on them. The terrorists know that when Nahal soldiers reach them, they are finished. The orthodox Nahal Brigade has earned the reputation as one of the fiercest groups in the IDF.
**Brigade 401 fighters continued their fighting in the Kamal Adwan Hospital area of Jabaliya last night by setting numerous ambushes in the area. They killed more than 50 terrorists who tried to escape the encirclement.
**Another hideous “humanitarian” organization, Physicians for Human Rights, petitioned the Israel High Court of Justice yesterday to try to stop the IDF from taking action against the terrorists holed up in the Kamal Adwan Hospital–the last stronghold of Hamas in Jabaliya. There is no word on the High Court’s decision at this time.
**Six more Palestinian monsters who participated in the October 7 massacre last year have been killed.
As you may not know, following the massacre, elements of the Shin Bet and the Mossad were brought together to form a new force: NILI. The sole purpose of NILI has been to identify and then track down and kill those who murdered our children, women, and men.
They have been systematically doing so for the past year.
NILI is an acronym for “Netzah Yisrael Lo Yeshaker,” (Hebrew: נצח ישראל לא ישקר). It comes from 1st Samuel 15:19-23 in which Saul says: “But I did obey the Lord. I went on the mission the Lord assigned me. I completely destroyed the Amalekites . . .”
And . . . another monster has died.
Ashraf Fakhri Abu Warda, 51, died yesterday at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, two days after being transferred from a prison in the south of the country. He was captured on November 20, 2023.
What is there to say about these 7?
Good riddance. The world is a better place with them gone.

**The clueless, last-gasp Biden Administration continues to arm twist Israel into approving the transfer of more ammunition to the “PA security forces” (aka PLO terrorists) to continue fighting against Islamic Jihad and Hamas terrorists in Jenin. Fortunately, PM Netanyahu has firmly rejected the Bidenites.
**Interestingly, 2 terrorists from Islamic Jihad’s Jenin Battalion surrendered themselves to Israeli forces yesterday rather than get taken into custody by the PLO.
All Israeli Tourists Need A Visa
An announcement from the Israeli Immigration Authority:
“The ETA-IL system will go into effect on January 1. It will be mandatory for every tourist, even from countries exempt from a visa, to submit an application through an ETA to visit Israel.”
The Stormy Weather Continues
The past 24 hours have been particularly wintry, including flooding, heavy rain, extremely cold winds, and lightning and thunder heard all over the country.
Up on Mt. Hermon, the temperature this morning was -3 C with a snow depth of 40 cm.

A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
