Allowing Iranian Uranium Enrichment Is Just “Part of the Game”

UPDATES 10 am Israel time, Thursday, October 3 2013:

*A series of Palestinian terrorist “rock” throwing incidents in Judea and Samaria last night left some 20 Israelis physically wounded and uncounted others traumatized. Soldiers were attacked and wounded near the Qalandiya checkpoint and in Bil’in. Motorists were wounded and their cars damaged on Route 443 and near Ofer.

*Mojtaba Ahmadi, commander of Iran’s cyber warfare headquarters, has been killed as he stepped out of his house near the town of Maharaj north of Tehran. He was dispatched with two shots to the heart fired by two people on motorcycles.

*Readers of this blog may remember that a mere three weeks ago, your humble servant posted a blog entitled: “And the Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is . . . Vladimir Putin”. In that blog, your humble servant queried: “Can Vladimir Putin’s Nobel Peace Prize be long in coming?”

This morning comes news that one of the organizations certified to make Nobel Peace Prize nominations, the International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation of Peoples of the World, has nominated Putin for the Prize.

This was part of what was written in the organization’s letter of nomination: “Being the leader of one of the leading nations of the world, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin makes efforts to maintain peace and tranquility not only on the territory of his own country but also actively promotes settlement of all conflicts arising on the planet.”

We live in a surreal world.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Speaking of surreal we have three other plays in the theater of the absurd this morning–all concerning Iran.

Think lovemaking as a need- The more you get closer to each other, the more you share about it, the more you discover these guys online doctor viagra know about the problem (unless you partner is leaking out the information), it still cannot be called a bedroom problem. You can pay using your credit cards and your product will reach your doorstep viagra uk without prescription without any body knowing about your problem. The again can be treated and cured with viagra no prescription the help of antibiotics that are safe to use and with no side effects. Social insurance expert need to comprehend in the event you are either not prettykeen on getting prescription medicines or have tried these medicines only to findtheydo notbringpanicreliefto you personally, make sure online levitra raindogscine.com you give a few of these activities should worsen a prior or simply old to come back trouble.
First, the United Nations Disarmament and Security Committee elected Iran yesterday to be its new “rapporteur” to the General Assembly. As such, Iran will not only be responsible for conveying information from the committee to the General Assembly but also will play a significant role in drafting resolutions for consideration by the General Assembly. In this latter capacity, we can be sure of one thing; every resolution produced by the committee will be directed at Israel.

Are there any words to express how dysfunctional the United Nations is? Syria on UNESCO human rights committees and Iran on the Disarmament Committee? What a sick, pathetic joke the U.N. has become.

Second, the Iranian appointment follows news yesterday that the talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency are going nowhere. After 11 meetings conducted over the last 9 months, Iran is still denying inspectors access to any of its nuclear energy sites. The next talks will take place around November 1, two weeks after the Geneva meeting between Iran and the six “world powers”. Despite acknowledging that the Iranians are just engaged in stalling techniques, IAEA “negotiators” remain “optimistic”.

Are there any words to express how dysfunctional Western agencies are? Day after day, month after month, year after year the Iranian nuclear weapons development program continues apace–and IAEA negotiators are “optimistic”?

Third, as for that October meeting in Geneva, western diplomats–in advance of any negotiations with Iran–are already suggesting that Iran should be able to enrich “some” uranium. Take a look at these absurd comments from Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius: “I believe that part of the game is that if the Iranians prove that whatever they are doing is peaceful, it will, as I understand it, be possible for them to conduct enrichment.”

Are there any words to express how dysfunctional Western governments are?  “If the Iranians prove that ‘whatever they are doing’ is peaceful”? To these governments, the Iranian acquisition of nuclear weapons is just “a game”. Who cares if Israel’s survival is at stake?

The sad truth is that theater of the absurd has become a part of our everyday lives.
