Israel And The Gulf States. The Fight Against Iran

We all know that Iran continues to spread its tentacles throughout the Middle East–with Israel fighting not only against Iran, but also against Iranian Hamas, and Iranian Hezbollah/Lebanon. But Israel is not alone.

In an event that almost went unnoticed yesterday, the Gulf Cooperation Council (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE) meeting in Riyadh asked the United Nations Security Council to stop “Iran’s provocative interference in their domestic affairs.” Al-Arabiya TV reported  that the GCC “categorically rejects all foreign interference in its affairs . . . and condemns Iranian aggression against Saudi diplomats in Iran.”

Two days ago, Iranian students demonstrating outside the Saudi embassy in Tehran to condemn Riyadh’s military intervention in Bahrain, threw six to seven gasoline bombs  against the embassy while chanting anti-Saudi slogans. Shiite Iran has repeatedly condemned the sending of Sunni Saudi troops to Bahrain (picture above is of Saudi troops entering Bahrain) to support the Bahraini forces’ crackdown on demonstrators, who were mostly Shiites protesting against the Sunni rule in Bahrain.
