Shimon Peres: Never Too Old To Undermine The Jewish State Of Israel

UPDATES 5:30 pm Israel time, Wednesday, January 22 2014:

*The war zone on the Gaza Border continues to heat up with Israel’s targeted elimination of the terrorist who has been responsible for many of the most recent missile attacks. Before and after the IAF strike, Palestinian terrorists launched more rockets against southern Israel. The most recent strike occurred at 3:58 pm this afternoon.

*A major Al-Qaeda terrorist cell operating in the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem has been captured by Shin Bet, Israel’s security service. The cell was busy recruiting suicide bombers when it was infiltrated and disrupted. The group had already planned to carry out attacks on Israeli buses and on the American Embassy in Tel Aviv.

*Iranian FM Mohammed Zarif has shocked many in the West by declaring today: “The White House version both underplays the concessions and overplays Iranian commitments. We did not agree to dismantle anything.”

Zarif continued: “The White House tries to portray it as basically a dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program. That is the word they use time and again. If you find a single word, that even closely resembles dismantling or could be defined as dismantling in the entire text, then I would take back my comment.”

Your humble servant cannot understand why anyone is shocked. As was reported on israelstreet the day after the nuclear deal was signed, the Iranian version of the agreement is completely different from the Obama version.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Over the last year, your humble servant has vigorously attacked PM Benjamin Netanyahu for the way that he has kowtowed to the Americans in the so-called Israeli-Palestinian “peace negotiations.”  Along the way, Netanyahu has made a series of terrible decisions ranging from agreeing to release Palestinian murderers to ordering a de facto freeze on all construction of Jewish homes, schools, and hospitals in Judea and Samaria.

However, the PM Netanyahu’s everlasting credit, he has made the Israeli demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state the primary demand on which any peace must be based.

To treat this problem, many pharmaceutical companies have launched quality drugs for the benefit of the general public. pfizer viagra is known to be the most potent drug for ED in men. Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5), an alternate buy viagra wholesale protein breaks down (crushes) cgmp. Getting potent in bed for the impotent men is a no-longer embarrassing condition. generic levitra no prescription So, it is widely used for curing cardio problem as well buy levitra line MED issue. //kamagradepot.com/product/sildamax/ Kamagra is a promising for chronic HCV infection.
In making this demand, Netanyahu is exactly correct. Unless the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state, the Palestinians will continue to insist on the right of “a Palestinian return” to Israel.  Which of course is precisely what the Palestinians continue to insist on–and why the Palestinians declare everyday that they will never recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

And to the credit of John Kerry and Barack Obama, they appear to have taken Netanyahu’s demand to heart and are making the Palestinian recognition of a Jewish state a central American position.

But amazingly, the Israeli “left” led by Israeli President Shimon Peres is now going to great lengths to demean the necessity of such recognition.

Yesterday, in advance of a Netanyahu and Peres trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland, Peres allowed it to be leaked that he was engaging in private conversations in which he said a Palestinian recognition of a Jewish state is “unnecessary.” Here is what was reported in Israel Hayom:

“In conversations held by Peres in the past weeks with senior diplomatic and political figures, he explained that this insistence by Netanyahu was ‘unnecessary,’ as he put it, since it could derail the peace negotiations.”

In one sense, Peres’ maneuvering behind the scenes to undermine Netanyahu is not surprising. Yet what is appalling are Peres’ continued efforts to undermine the Jewishness of Israel. Israelstreet readers will remember the it was just a few months ago that Peres refused to allow Israel’s national anthem Hatikvah to be played at a FC Barcelona exhibition in Tel Aviv.

The good news is that Shimon Peres’ seven year term of office ends in July of this year. The bad news is that Peres has another six months to try to de-Judaize Israel.
