23 Days Until The Election

dimonasman“Oh the weather outside is frightful, inside it’s so delightful, we haven’t a place to go, let it snow let it snow let it snow.”

It has indeed been snowing in Israel, all the way into the early morning hours today. Believe it or not, the picture above is of the mayor of Dimona who built a snowman outside of his house.

Here are a few other pictures of snowpeople that have been created around the country.

TODAY’S BLOG:

As we all know by now, President Obama has a love affair with Iran.

Meant to be the crowning piece of the Obama presidency, much in the same way as President Nixon’s overture to China more than 40 years ago, a rapprochement with the mullahs in Tehran is seen by Obama as a way to completely change the Middle East and create his own faux legacy of “hope and change”.

Hence we have had a presidency replete with “love” tweets to Iranian President Hossein Rouhani and “love” letters to the Grand Ayatollah Ali Khameni–the latter of whom Obama deferentially took to calling “The Supreme Leader” years ago.

It is no accident that Obama refused to support Iranian pro-democracy protesters back in the summer of 2009, just six months after he took office (while being extraordinarily willing to support the so-called “Arab Spring” a year and a half later).

It is no accident today that the U.S. has joined forces with Iran to fight IS–even as Iran through its own soldiers and those of proxies is busy taking over Iraq, Syria, and Yemen– and through its sponsorship of Hezbollah and Hamas is positioned more strongly than ever on Israel’s borders.

It is no accident that the U.S. has joined forces with Iran to keep the Iranian centrifuges spinning through a game of fake Iranian concessions designed to relieve the sanctions that had been placed on the country. Now we have come to the end of that game, in which a duplicitous backroom deal is all set to be announced in the last week of March.

There are only two flies in the ointment–two flies that can stop Obama from realizing his Iranian dream. Those flies are the U.S. Congress which can pass more sanctions against Iran, and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu who seems to be the only world leader who is willing to tell it like it is.

And so, out of fear of seeing his Iranian fantasy go down the drain, Obama has launched a full-scale assault against the Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner and against Netanyahu.

As soon as the speech was announced, we had:

*Obama crying that protocol was breached because he wasn’t properly informed in advance

*Obama trying to rally Democrats in the Congress to boycott the speech and even start a petition against the speech

*Obama enlisting the help of Israeli leftists (read Herzog, Livni, and Lapid) to denounce the speech

And as of last week, when none of these three actions worked, we suddenly have had everyone from White House spokesmen to State Department spokesmen going out and demeaning Netanyahu for “not knowing what he is talking about.”

Now, that this disinformation campaign seems to be faltering, the Obama White House leaked to the press yesterday that it is considering three more actions to undercut the speech of PM Netanyahu’s speech:

*having President Obama boycott the AIPAC Conference taking place in Washington the same week

*having President Obama give an “on-the-record” interview with a senior journalist to attack Netanyahu directly

*having President Obama send out a team of U.S. security officials to major media outlets to undermine what PM Netanyahu is going to say

In sum, the astonishing steps that Obama is taking to try to stop Netanyahu can only mean one thing: that Washington has signed on to an astonishingly bad deal with Iran–a deal that leaves the Iranian nuclear weapons program largely intact and ready to crank up at the drop of a hat. It is a deal that will leave Israel more vulnerable to nuclear attack than ever before.

It is has now become completely clear that this is what Obama had in mind all along–a fact that israelstreet was pointing out years ago.
