18 Days Until The Election

By the numbers:

**9: “Great Prophet 9” to be exact: the name of the drill staged by naval units of Iranian Revolutionary Guards near the Strait of Hormuz yesterday in which they practiced blowing up a mock U.S. aircraft carrier.

And Obama continues negotiating with Tehran?

**21: the number of Molotov cocktail and “rock” attacks that occurred in Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem yesterday. Below is a picture of the front windshield of Bus 149 which was assaulted last night while en route from Anatot to Jerusalem:

**150-200: the number of calories in a Hamantaschen pastry–depending on the filling. All of Israel is getting ready to celebrate Purim which arrives next week:

Yummy in the tummy!

Yummy in the tummy! How many calories do you think these two Hamentaschen have?

**550: The number of “humanitarian aid” trucks allowed by Israel into Gaza each day to aid in its reconstruction according to Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, the head of the infamous IDF COGAT Unit yesterday. To which Mordechai bizarrely added “Hamas prevents the reconstruction by collecting taxes and violently taking building supplies in order to rebuild its terror tunnels.”

Can someone please explain this lunacy to your humble servant? Why is Israel supplying materials to Hamas that it knows are being used to rebuild its terror tunnels?

Picture of the Day:

So by now you have figured out that this is “Women in the IDF Week” here at israelstreet. The IDF has always been a great leveler in Israeli society with as many female officers as male officers–and with equal representation from all sectors of Israeli society. Here are two Israeli combat soldiers whose families came from Ethiopia:

TODAY’S BLOG:

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Obama Senior Advisor Susan Rice continued the Obama Administration’s bombardment of PM Netanyahu yesterday with Kerry proclaiming that Netanyahu had “mistaken judgment” about Iraq–and that he now probably has the same misjudgment about Iran. Meanwhile Rice blasted Netanyahu by saying his speech is “destructive” to the relationship between the U.S. and Israel.
Start with quitting smoking if you’re prescription du viagra on it. Have 200 mgs of magnesium two times each day and 50 to 90 mgs cialis stores of B complex in one occasion per day. But even after erecting your male reproductive organ the problem that can generic uk viagra be experienced at any stage of life. This fruit reduces the risk viagra best price of stroke.

In testimony before the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, Kerry dissembled: “The prime minister, as you will recall, was profoundly forward-leaning and outspoken about the importance of invading Iraq under George W. Bush, and we all know what happened with that decision.”

So now we have John Kerry blaming Netanyahu for the U.S. war in Iraq (a war by the way that Senator John Kerry voted for)?

Perhaps it would have been intellectually honest if Kerry had actually quoted Netanyahu’s remarks back in 2002 and put them in the correct context. Here’s what Netanyahu said then:

“It’s not a question of whether Iraq’s regime should be taken out but when should it be taken out; it’s not a question of whether you’d like to see a regime change in Iran but how to achieve it.”

It was not Iraq that Netanyahu was talking about in 2002; it was Iran. Netanyahu’s point was that regime change in Iraq might lead to regime change in Tehran.

Netanyahu continued:

”If you take out Saddam, Saddam’s regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region. And I think that people sitting right next door in Iran, young people, and many others, will say the time of such regimes, of such despots is gone.”

Was this Netanyahu predicting the so-called Arab Spring? An Arab spring that eventually came to Persian Iran 7 years later–only to be refused support by Barack Obama?

In sum, your humble servant just cannot believe the desperation of an American president who is so desperate for a deal with Iran that he is willing to throw not only Netanyahu but also Israel under the bus for voicing criticism of the impending deal.

By the way, Israeli Minister Yuval Steinetz responded to the Kerry comments last night by saying cryptically: “He may not know everything we know.”
