Obama and His Israeli Supporters Play the Race Card, but Netanyahu Is No Racist

UPDATES

9 am Israel time, Saturday, March 21 2015

**The unrelenting international, anti-Semitic war on Israel continued yesterday:

–The European Union issued a report recommending sanctions against Israel because of its “construction policies and security measures” in Jerusalem. It notes that the city has been beset in recent months by violence, yet fails to mention that it is the PLO and Hamas that have incited that violence. It castigates Israeli security forces for “heavy-handed policing and punitive measures”, yet fails to mention the murders, stabbings, car-rammings, and “rock” and Molotov throwing perpetrated by Arabs that forced the crackdown.

It is just another EU report meant to delegitimize Israel and undermine Israel’s ability to protect Israeli citizens.

–The United Nations annual commission on the Status of Women Report released nine documents yesterday concerning the situation in the world today. One would have thought that the focus would have been on places like Nigeria where Boko Haram continues kidnapping and raping young girls; or Iraq where IS has kidnapped, raped, and sold into slavery Yazidi women; or Afghanistan where elderly men “marry” 9 year old girls; or any one of a number of Muslim countries that permit the circumcision of young women.

But no. The only country mentioned in the nine documents was Israel which was excoriated for the lack of employment possibilities for Palestinian women. No mention was made of the hundreds of Palestinian women who lost their jobs last month when the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions movement (BDS) forced the relocation of the SodaStream factory from Ma’ale Adumim to Beersheva.

**The leftist Israeli media’s unrelenting attack on Benjamin Netanyahu continued yesterday.

Your humble servant happened to be staying a couple of nights in Jerusalem and happened to pick up a copy of the Haaretz newspaper which was distributed for free by our hotel.

In the first section of the newspaper, consisting of 16 pages, there were some 25 articles blasting Netanyahu such as:

“Netanyahu did irreversible damage to ties”;”Obama calls to protest Netanyahu’s campaign rhetoric”;”Police to take Sara Netanyahu’s testimony as probe into PM’s residence resumes”;”Abbas: 2-state solution is impossible to achieve”;”Netanyahu against the world”; “Time for tough love: Diaspora Jews must now acknowledge the peace process is over in Israel, and that the pressure process must begin”;”Shock and Awfulness”; “A defeat for democracy”; “Don’t mention the occupation”;”Battered woman syndrome”; “Accept but don’t respect”; “Palestinaphobia”; and”Black flag over Netanyahu”.

Bashing Netanyahu has become a cottage industry here in Israel which does nothing except demonstrate the utter vacuity of the Israeli left and alienate a large portion of the country.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Yesterday, your humble servant reviewed PM Netanyahu’s comments concerning a Palestinian state and showed how there has been no change whatsoever in what he said in 2009 at Bar Ilan University and what he said a day before the election.

In the same blog, I suggested my complete dismay with the fact that President Obama and his friends have chosen to maliciously interpret his comments to suit their own ends .

Today should be considered part 2 of that blog.

Peter Beinert, the pathetic former J-Streeter who now writes for Haaretz, noted yesterday that “top Obama officials loathed Netanyahu” before the election, and then he goes on to say that aside from the Palestinian state comment, Netanyahu’s comment about “Arab voters coming out in droves” drove the same officials to “new levels of fury” because “some in the Administration” view the comment as “racist”.

Then Beinert waxes metaphorically about Obama’s repugnance stemming from his moral compass being all about civil rights. Unbelievably, Beinert goes on to note that the same Obama officials noted above compare Netanyahu to George Wallace (the former governor of Alabama) and Bull Connor (the police chief of Selma, Alabama back in the 1960s).

All of this Obama nonsense about Netanyahu’s “racism” has of course been picked up and expanded by his cronies on the Israeli left, which leads your humble servant to once again today discuss what Netanyahu actually said on the day of the election.

First some context.

As israelstreet has already noted in a previous blog, everyone in Israel knew prior to the election that NGOs such as Ameinu, funded in part by the Obama Administration, were working with Obama field commander and V15 coordinator Jeremy Bird to get out the Israeli-Arab vote.

Were they getting out the Arab vote in an altruistic and civil rights effort to enfranchise disenfranchised voters? Of course not. There is no impediment whatsoever to any Israeli-Arab of voting age voting. 53% of all eligible Israeli-Arab voters cast ballots in 2009; 56% in 2013.

Or were they attempting to overcome minority racial discrimination of the sort that existed in Alabama in the 1960s? Of course not. It is repugnant to even suggest such a comparison.

So why were Ameinu and Jeremy Bird trying to increase the Israeli-Arab vote? An Ameinu memo specifically mentions working with Bird to increase the Arab vote in order to oust Netanyahu. The idea was to use American taxpayer money to bus Israel-Arabs to voting places in order to cast their anti-Netanyahu ballots.

And that is precisely what happened on Tuesday morning. Ameinu and a number of its affiliates spent the morning busing Israeli-Arabs to vote against Netanyahu.

By afternoon, Netanyahu had posted a video on his Facebook page in which he pointed this out:

“The right-wing government is in danger. Arab voters are heading to the polling stations in droves. Left-wing NGOs are bringing them in buses.”

Some of the common side-effects are headaches, light-headedness, facial flushes, tadalafil overnight redness and heartburn. The bridge is around 1,150 feet long and has got a central arched span of 600 feet. levitra purchase online But how do we show people that have erectile dysfunction and not to people who just wants to have a long sexual intercourse, simply because if it truly is not utilized generic viagra sample as instructed it can result in priapism. Netanyahu’s comment was all about right-wing and left-wing.

It was all about the fact that Netanyahu wanted his right-wing base to get out and vote to offset all of the left-wing Israeli-Arabs votes being produced by left-wing NGOs.

Did Netanyahu ever say say that Israeli-Arabs shouldn’t vote? Of course not.

Did Netanyahu ever seek to deny any voting rights to Israel-Arabs because of their ethnicity? Of course not.

Was it somehow “racist” for Netanyahu to tell his right-wing base that large numbers of Israeli-Arabs were exercising their civil right to vote? Of course not.

Was it somehow “racist” for Netanyahu to describe the Israeli-Arab voters as “left-wing”? Of course not. In fact, President Obama’s men and the left-wing NGOs had already done that.

Would Netanyahu have made the same Facebook plea if left-wing NGOs had been busing port workers in Ashdod to the polls? You bet he would have. In fact, earlier in the campaign, Likud actually produced a video comparing those port workers to Hamas terrorists.

And yet, following the election, we have had an unending stream of garbage from Judaism’s Reform and Orthodox movements–and all of their friends on the Left. Here was the nonsense babbled by the Conservative movement’s Rabbinical Assembly on Thursday:

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that Israel was endangered by Israeli Arabs exercising their right to vote. This statement, which indefensibly singled out the Arab citizens of Israel, is unacceptable and undermines the principles upon which the State of Israel was founded.”

Who indefensibly singled out the Israeli-Arabs as a voting target? President Obama and the left-wing NGOs.

Who cynically used Israeli-Arabs as a pawn in an attempt to unseat PM Netanyahu? President Obama and the left-wing NGOs.

Who sought to endanger Israel by undermining PM Netanyahu and installing a left-wing government? President Obama and the left-wing NGOs.

The bottom line is that PM Netanyahu is no racist, and it is maliciously disingenuous in the extreme to suggest that he is.

What is additionally disgusting is that by playing the “race” card and hurling the “racist” epithet at Netanyahu, those on the Israeli  Left and in the Obama White House are, in essence, calling Netanyahu’s supporters racist because why else (they say) would they have voted against Herzog and Livni?

Do you want to know why Herzog and Livni lost?

Isaac Herzog and Tzipi Livni lost because they were extraordinarily poor candidates.

*A final note:

Obama’s supporters also constantly play the race card in the United States by accusing those who oppose Obama’s policies of racism. Devoid of ideas, they have no other way to explain opposition to the President.
