The Netanyahu Government Goes On A Witch-hunt Against The Right

**Just when you thought the Obama Administration could sink no lower . . .

You may remember that in February this year, a jury in New York awarded 11 American families $218.5 million in damages from the Palestinian Authority (aka the PLO) for the deaths  and woundings of their relatives in terror attacks that occurred in Israel between 2001 and 2004.

According to U.S. law, that award is to be tripled and interest added. The final award will probably reach $1.1 billion dollars.

Yesterday, it was reported that the Obama Administration will probably join the Palestinians in appealing the verdict for fear that it would bankrupt the Palestinian Authority (PLO).

Unbelievable.

One of the family members, Alan Bauer, had this to say yesterday: “The U.S. government and the Department of Justice should be ashamed that they are even considering telling an American court that the PLO and the PA can afford to pay convicted terrorists, but cannot afford to pay the victims of those very same terrorists.”

Again, unbelievable.

**Just when you thought the situation on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem could not get any more bizarre . . .

french

A 35 year old  French tourist was beaten in the head by a gang of 4 Muslim men on Temple Mount yesterday (see picture above). A Christian, he was beaten because he had the audacity to hold up a small Israeli flag in a place which is supposedly under complete Israeli sovereignty. After being beaten up, he was removed from the Mount by Israeli police  while Muslim men and women screamed curses at him.

This morning the tourist is facing charges of “incitement and disturbing the public order.”

The 4 Muslim men were not detained by the police nor are they being charged with anything.

Can you believe it?

**Not so happy . . .

You know the tune “Happy” sung by Pharrell Williams.

[Verse 1:]

It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
Sunshine she’s here, you can take a break
I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don’t care baby by the way

[Chorus:]
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you

Unfortunately, the pro-Palestinan BDS crowd in South Africa is not so happy this morning. They have just announced plans to disrupt Mr. Williams’ upcoming performances there beginning September 21. What has Pharrell done to inflame the pro-Palestinian idiots?

TODAY’S BLOG:

In a striking abuse of power, the Netanyahu government in concert with the Israel Attorney General and Israel’s Shin Bet security service have begun a wide-scale round up of all activists on what they call “the extreme right.”

The ostensible reason is to find the perpetrators or perpetrator of the crime at Duma, but the underlying reason is beginning to appear to be the incarceration of those who dissent from the government.

The chief tool being used by the government is “administrative detention.” Essentially administrative detention consists of arresting people without charges and then subjecting them to endless interrogations in the hope that they will produce useful or incriminating information.

At the moment there is not one shred of evidence pointing toward any particular individual (s) who carried out the Duma attack.

But that has not stopped the Government from going after anyone that they can possibly find to blame–and, as always, they look first at the usual suspects, everyone on the “right”.

Number 1 on the hit list two days ago was 27-year-old Meir Ettinger, the grandson of Rabbi Meir Kahane–himself a long time target of the Israeli security establishment before his assassination back in 1988 by a Palestinian terrorist. Ettinger had already been banned from Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem for his outspoken beliefs. His detention was extended for six more days this morning.

Second, last night was Eyatar Slonim of Ma’aleh Adumim. Via a signed detention order by Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, Slonium has been thrown in jail for six months.

Late last night, two more people on the right were “detained/arrested” by order of the Defense Ministry for 6 months. They were both charged with “suspicion of involvement in a violent extremist Jewish organization.”

If this sounds like a witch-hunt, it is because it is.

Ettinger’s attorney, Adi Keidar, blasted the Government today:

“The State of Israel as represented by Defense Minister Ya’alon and  Attorney General Weinstein is acting at the behest of the Israeli “left”. Without any information concerning any acts committed,  they have issued surreal and delusional orders because of public pressure. I urge them to reverse this decision.

This decision [to arrest people on the “right”] is not reasoned and reveals blatant discrimination against Jews in general and young people in particular . . . If there is evidence against these people, the State should file an indictment, and allow us to defend them properly against these serious charges.”

Ms. Keidar is absolutely correct. If there is evidence to charge people, that evidence should be adduced forthwith.
