Say A Prayer For Our Two Wounded Soldiers

UPDATES

**In a remarkable turn of events, the Israeli government–and in particular the IDF– has turned down an Obama Administration offer to participate in the huge U.S. combat exercise “Cobra 16” scheduled to take place in early 2016.

Apparently, this decision was conveyed to U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter when he visited Israel last week. According to reports, Carter offered Israel an “unprecedented” level of participation as part of a “compensation package” concerning the Iranian Appeasement Agreement. PM Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ya’alon politely said “Thanks, but no thanks.”

And lest you think that the Israeli rejection was wholly related to Iran, Israel also let Carter know that the IDF has not forgotten that in the middle of the worst fighting last summer, the Obama Administration would not resupply badly needed munitions to Israel.

At least that Obama decision has had the beneficial effect of producing a drive in Israel to manufacture all munitions here so that another Obama arms embargo will not be given a chance to happen.

As far as your humble servant is concerned, the less dependent that Israel is on the Obama White House the better.

TODAY’S BLOG:

According to 0404, there were more than 40 Palestinian terror attacks against Israelis yesterday. “Rocks” and Molotov cocktails were thrown in numerous locations such as on Road 443 and in eastern Jerusalem.

In one of the most recent attacks  a MADA ambulance on an emergency call was attacked by “rock” throwers just after midnight. Fortunately the driver was able to stay on the road despite  having his windows smashed.

Also two more missiles were fired out of Gaza at southern Israel–according to the IDF, they exploded on the Gaza side of the border fence, but who knows?

The worst of the attacks, however, occurred mid-afternoon  yesterday in Samaria north of Jerusalem at Sinjil..

Three IDF soldiers were wounded by a terrorist who plowed his car into a group of soldiers beside a road. Two of them are hovering between life and death this morning. Despite being anesthetized and intubated, both had to be rushed into surgery a few hours ago at Hadassah Medical Center in Ein Kerem.

In the early evening, a Border Guard was wounded while storming the house of the terrorist. He has been treated and released from a hospital in Jerusalem.

As of this hour, not one single Palestinian terrorist attack yesterday has been condemned by the United Nations, the European Union, or the United States State Department.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor, was especially critical of Ban Ki-Moon and his cohorts yesterday:

“This is the third time this week that I have urged you condemn terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens. Your silence is particularly striking in view of the rapid denunciations that you direct at Israel.”

Of course, expecting anything from the United Nations is useless because the United Nations itself is useless.

Addendum: Israeli doctors, unfortunately, are also fighting to save the life of the terrorist who attacked the soldiers at Sinjil.

Please don’t forget to say that prayer for our soldiers!
