***An interesting anti-government demonstration took place yesterday afternoon at the Tapuach (Apple) Junction in Samaria where so many Palestinian terror attacks have taken place in recent weeks.

It may surprise you to know that local residents were angry over the installation of concrete barriers meant to protect hitchhikers and people waiting for buses from Palestinian “bulldozer attacks” (attacks in which terrorists ram their cars into people waiting at bus stops and hitchhiking points).

Why were they angry?

One resident summed it up when he told reporters:

“Stop the fear and stop the government defense policy.  It is inconceivable that the Palestinians are trying to murder us, and all we are doing is erecting concrete barriers. It is a policy adopted by the military and it just results in more Israelis being killed. The security situation today requires the courage and determination, not weakness and fear. Every child can understand it, but our security establishment does not understand that we are at war, and we need to take the war to the enemy–not merely try to protect ourselves when the enemy decides to attack us.”

It is indeed a war.

There were more than 70 Palestinian terror attacks targeting Israelis yesterday.

“Rocks” and Molotov firebombs were the weapons of Palestinian choice on Route 443, at Neve Daniel, Abu Dis, Dir Nizam, A-Ram, Issawiya, Husan, Silwad, on the Mt. of Olives, at Beit Ummar, Gush Etzion, the Tapuach Junction, Adoravim, Hebron, Umm al-Fahm, Beit Awa, Hebron Hills, near Ramallah, Anatot, Hizma, Kiryat Arba, Hawara, El Be’er, Sinjil, Beit El, the Qalandiya checkoint, Al-Fawwar, Tekoa, Ras al-Amud, Silwan, Bir Zeit, Hizma, Beit Anun, Rachel’s Tomb, Turmus’aya, Psagot, Jalazun, Gaorish, Ilsov, Kochav Yaakov, at the Erez Crossing, and Beit Furik.

To name a few.

In the above attacks, soldiers were wounded (one was hit in the face by a Molotov), bus passengers were wounded, and individual motorists were sliced up by shattered gas. There were too many cases of trauma to count.

***The United Nations weighed in again yesterday . . .

With this typically biased statement from UNRWA:

“UNRWA is shocked by the upsurge in violence that has affected Palestinian and Israeli civilians, and the pattern of deadly force against the Palestinians.

The pattern of deadly force? It’s the same old story. Israelis (read “Jews”) are not supposed to defend themselves–even when they are being stabbed, shot, run over, and burned to death.

TODAY’S BLOG:

And so it begins again. A "Boykott the Jews" poster put up by the Nazis in the 1930s. This poster was signed by Adolf Hitler; the boycott proclamation yesterday was signed by the European Union.

And so it begins again. A “Boykott the Jews” poster put up by the Nazis on April 1, 1933. This poster was signed by Adolf Hitler; the boycott proclamation yesterday was signed by the European Union. Has anything changed?

The European boycott of Israel has begun. Oh sure, the self-righteous Europeans are declaring that only products from Judea, Samaria, eastern Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights need to be “specially marked”, but anyone who knows Jewish history knows exactly what the intent of European Union is–and where this boycott (or should we spell it with the German “boykott”) is heading.

In the caption to the above picture, the question is asked: “Has anything changed between April 1, 1933 and November 10, 2015?

The answer to that question is “No and Yes.”

No:

The continent of Europe remains deeply anti-Semitic and is growing more so by the day. Jews who identify themselves as Jews by going to Jewish schools and supermarkets or by wearing Jewish clothing are assaulted on a daily basis throughout Europe. Ceremonies purporting to remember what happened to the Jews in the Holocaust such as recent ones in Amsterdam and Sweden specifically forbid Jews from attending.

And just like in the 1930s, we have “useful Jews” speaking in support of the boykotters. In an utterly nauseating action yesterday, we actually had more than 550 former Israeli politicians and self-described “intellectuals” publish a petition which reads: “We are Israelis who care about their country now more than ever, welcome the EU decision to label products from Israeli settlements, and we hope that other countries will follow this process.”

Who are some of “the useful Israeli Jews”, whom the Nazis called the “Wertvolle Juden”, who signed this petition? Among the most well-known names are former Jewish Agency chairman Avraham Burg, former Foreign Ministry director general Alon Liel, former Attorney General Michael Ben Yair, a former Knesset member Yael Dayan, a former education minister Yossi Sarid and Nobel laureate in economics Daniel Kahneman.

Yes:

But some things have changed.  Most importantly, Jews can now fight back. We have our own country, and we are proud of it. As of this morning, scenes like this are appearing in many supermarkets:

The handwritten sign reads: (picture: 0404).

The handwritten sign reads: “Fairy is being taken off the shelf; only Blue and White products will be sold.(picture: 0404).

Or this one:

The sign reads:

The sign again says that European products are being taken off the shelf–and only “Blue and White” products produced in Israel will be sold.

There is a movement underway in the Knesset this morning to start labeling all products from Europe.

More than this Israeli business owners are going on the offensive. At the Bazelet Winery in the Golan Heights (which your humble servant visited on his trip north last week–see picture at the bottom of this page), winery owner Yoav Levy has put Israeli flags on the caps of his wine bottles and calls on other wineries to do the same: “I’m proud of this flag, and I’m Israeli and I’m not ashamed.”

Every one should buy Bazelet wine!

Everyone should buy Bazelet wine!

Bazelet produces 80,000 bottles a year; 20% is exported to North America and Europe. Your humble servant can attest to the fact the wine is excellent. Buy it in support of Israel!

In addition, there are groups now actively supporting the businesspeople in the areas that the Europeans are targeting. One such group is Lev HaOlam (Heart of the World). It provides a way for people to buy products directly from producers. Yesterday and today, Lev HaOlam is blanketing Jerusalem–with the help of dozens of Dutch tourists who happen to be in the country–to sell products from Judea, Samaria, eastern Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights.

The point is that Israel is fighting back.

You should fight back also. What have you done for Israel today?

Addendum: Here is a picture that your humble servant took at the Bazelet Winery last Monday on our trip to the north.

Bazelet: a wonderful Israeli winery. Pictured is the delightful Avishag Mironi, manager of the visitors' center. By the time you leave, you and she will be friends!
