3:09 pm: Palestinian stabbing attack. 18-year-old Israeli man stabbed and killed at a gas station on Route 443 north of Jerusalem. Another 22-year-old woman was wounded. Terrorist shot and killed.
2:57 pm: Palestinian stabbing attack. Terrorist attempts to stab soldier at the entrance to Shechem (Nablus). Israeli not wounded. Terrorist shot and killed.

12:03 pm: Palestinian bulldozer attack. Palestinian attempts to fun over 5 yeshiva students near Homesh–close to Shavei Shomron. One Israeli wounded. No other details at this time.
11:28 am: Palestinian stabbing attack. Two female terrorists carry out attack on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem close to the Mahane Yehuda market. One person stabbed; ironically he is a 70-year-old Palestinian from Bethlehem that the terrorists mistakenly thought was a Jew–he is conscious but his condition is unknown. At least 10 other Israelis treated for trauma. Both terrorists shot. One killed, the other in “critical condition”.

***Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours:
There were three Palestinian stabbing attacks yesterday.
At 9:17 in the morning, a female terrorist with a knife attempted to stab women at a bus stop beside Base 3 of the Samaria Regional Brigade. When a passing motorist (who happened to be Gershon Mesika, former Samaria Regional Council head) saw her chasing after one of her intended victims with the knife raised in her hand, he pulled his car off the road and knocked the terrorist down. When she got up and continued after her intended victim, she was shot to death by a soldier.
An hour later, a Palestinian taxi driver jumped out of his taxi at the Adumim Junction after trying unsuccessfully to run over Israeli civilians, and rushed toward more civilians with a knife in his hand. He was shot and killed by a civilian on the scene.
About 5 hours later, 20-year-old Hadar Buchris was tragically murdered when she was stabbed in the head, heart, and chest at the Gush Etzion Junction (see Today’s Blog). The terrorist who stabbed her was shot and killed. Hadar is the 21st Israeli to be stabbed or shot to death by Palestinian terrorists since October 1.
On the other hand, there was some “good” news . . .
Just think how miraculous it was that no Israelis were burned to death yesterday . . . Palestinian terrorists launched Molotov firebombs at Israelis in attacks at Adam, Awa, Qalqilya, Eid David, Azzun, Tahsin, Fajjar, Hawara, Abu Dis, and Ofra.

It was equally miraculous that no Israelis were killed or had car crashes because of more than 30 “rock” attacks throughout Judea and Samaria. One Israeli woman was seriously wounded at Har Homa when a “rock” smashed through her windshield and hit her in the head.

Hadar Buchris. 1995-2015. May her memory be forever blessed.
By all accounts, Hadar Buchris was a remarkable young woman.
Born in Netanya, she attended school in Tzfat and in the Golan Heights where she majored in theater. Upon graduation, she performed national service for two years working with children at a moshav near Tiberias and at a kibbutz in Beit She’an.
As quoted in the Times of Israel this morning, Hadar’s drama teacher said: “Hadar was a fantastic, bright girl. She was always a source of good energy for the whole group.”
Just two weeks ago she returned from a trip to India during which time she stayed at the Chabad House in Puskkar. When she left, she penned a lovely letter in which she thanked her hosts and said that they would always be her family.
When she came back to Israel, she immediately enrolled in the Zohar Seminary in the Bat Ayin community near Gush Etzion. She was leaving the seminary for home yesterday afternoon when she was slaughtered at the Junction.
Hadar’s family has urged all of Israel to attend her funeral today in Jerusalem.
But there is more to this story.
By all accounts Hadar Buchris would be alive this morning were it not for the gross negligence of the IDF COGAT unit.
Here is what happened.
At the Gush Etzion bus stop and hitchhiking pick-up point, there are two waiting areas, one for Jews and one for Palestinians. The Palestinian waiting area is about 20 meters south of the bus stop/hitchhiking point.
Of course, self-proclaimed “human rights” activists like to claim that this separation is an example of Israeli discrimination against Palestinians; however, it wasn’t always like this–they both used to be together. But because of numerous Palestinian terror attacks, it was decided to separate the two groups.
Basically, Jews and Palestinians are both waiting for bus rides or cars to pick them up. For Jews, they are mostly going to Kiryat Arba. Palestinians on the other hand are mostly going to Hebron.
For Palestinians to get to a taxi, bus, or private ride, they can:
Method 1: Bypass the Jews by crossing the road to the sidewalk on the other side, walking along that sidewalk for about 30 meters, thening cross back over to where the transportation is.
Method 2: Walk down the same sidewalk the Jews are on accompanied by an IDF soldier. This second method is particularly dangerous for Jews because what normally happens is that the Palestinians will walk in front of the soldiers–but again, directly beside the Jews who are waiting at the bus stop/hitchhiking point.
Jews who regularly get rides at the Junction have often remarked in the past that Method 2 is a disaster waiting to happen. There is no way that an IDF soldier can stop a terrorist walking in front of him from pulling out a hidden knife and stabbing a Jew.
And this is precisely what happened yesterday. A Palestinian being “escorted” by a soldier pulled out a knife he had hidden in his clothes and stabbed Hadar Buchris to death before the soldier could react. In fact, he stabbed her multiple times in the upper torso and head as noted above.
This morning, many people are asking the simple question of “What COGAT idiot ordered Method 2 to be an option–particularly in the face of one terrorist stabbing after another?”
Other questions are:
- Why in the world are the people in Gush Etzion employing Palestinians?
- Why in the world are any Palestinians permitted at the Gush Etzion Junction?
- Why in the world are any Palestinian cars permitted on Route 60?
- Why in the world are the IDF and the Netanyahu government so incompetent?
The bottom line is that Hadar Buchris, a bright shining light in this world, did not have to die. We are all lessened by her passing, but instead of merely mourning her, we should do something to make sure another young Israeli is not stabbed to death in the same place.
May Hadar Buchris be forever remembered and blessed.
