***Palestinian terror in the last 8 hours . . .
Rioting in Bethany and Abu Dis; “rock” and Molotov throwing in tens of locations such as Anun, Adorim, the Jerusalem Light Rail, Judah, and the tunnel roads into and out of Jerusalem; two thwarted stabbings: at the Beit Hadassah checkpoint in Hebron, and at the Shuafat checkpoint in Jerusalem: these have been the face of Palestinian terrorism so far today.
***The Jewish Home party introduces a new law to fight the boykotters . . .
On Sunday, Jewish Home Chairwoman Muallem Rafaeli will propose a law that will require labeling any product imported into Israel from a country that labels Israeli products from the Golan, Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.
The label would read:
Please note: This product is manufactured in a country that has chosen to mark products from Israel.
The law would fine any importer who does not apply the label to the tune of 226,000 shekels.
Kolakovod to Muallem Rafaeli!
***The tragedy of Captain Yishai Rosales . . .
Your humble servant does not have the words to express his sadness over the accidental death of Yishai Rosales two days ago. While engaged in a combat drill at the Tze’elim base in the Negev on Tuesday, Rosales was hit in the chest by shrapnel from a misfired mortar shell.
A member of the IDF Haredi (Orthodox) Netzah Yehuda Battalion, Rosales had immigrated to Israel from Mexico with his family a few years ago. He was known as a simple and righteous man who helped everyone.
His funeral was held yesterday at Mt. Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem. The family asked that the public come because the Rosales family in Israel is small. Several thousand mourners came.
Ishai’s father Aharon eulogized his son this way:
“Thank you for all you did for us these 23 years. The day will come and we will meet again, my dear and beloved son. You left us and took a large part of our heart with you. Watch over us because we’re going to guard what you left us.”
Captain Ishai Rosales, may his memory be forever blessed.
TODAY’S BLOG:
In an astonishing piece of news yesterday, it was revealed that the Netanyahu Cabinet–at the urging of our so-called “Defense” Minister Moshe Ya’alon–is considering a series of “gestures to ease the lives of Palestinians” in Judea and Samaria.
According to Ya’alon and his minions, despite the fact that the number of stabbing, “rock”, and Molotov attacks has not abated, and that the number of shooting attacks has actually increased, PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is trying to tamp down the violence.
How you may ask? Ya’alon et al. would have us believe that the PLO has “greatly reduced” its incitement in the media, deployed uniformed security personnel to “friction points,” and has resumed joint operations with the IDF to arrest Hamas operatives. All of this can be dated back to the beginning of December says Ya’alon.
Your humble servant can hardly write all of this without laughing.
The PLO has reduced incitement? Who is kidding whom? Abbas never misses an opportunity to glorify terrorists and terrorism. He has yet to condemn a single terrorist act, and plasters the official PLO Facebook page with fraudulent stories of Israeli “barbarism.” And that is just what Abbas does within Israel.
As for deploying uniformed security personnel to friction points, the only reason that Abbas has taken that step is that local officials–such as those in Jenin–have taken it upon themselves to stop Palestinian teenaged terrorists from attempting to stab Israeli soldiers. In other words, they are proving to themselves everyday that they do not need the PLO, and in the process are rendering the PLO irrelevant.
And as for arresting Hamas operatives, who benefits from this more than Mahmoud Abbas? Abbas’ hold on Areas A and B is tenuous at best, and we all know that if an election were held tomorrow (control your laughter), Hamas would unceremoniously dump Abbas and the PLO into the gutter.
So to summarize, Ya’alon would reward Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinians for absolutely nothing–except for continuing their attempts to murder Israeli men, women, and children.
One final note.
A disgrace during the 2014 war with Hamas, a disgrace in his running of Judea and Samaria, a disgrace in his rounding up of Duma detainees, and a disgrace in his endless efforts to cozy up to the PLO, Moshe Ya’alon should be replaced immediately.
He puts all of Israel at risk with his bizarre ideas and tactics.
