UPDATES: 7:00 pm, Israel time
–>Palestinian terror.
It has been a bloody Sunday with four stabbing and attempted stabbing attacks–so far.
Just after 5:30 pm, a Palestinian terrorist infiltrated the Judean community of Othniel and stabbed to death Daphne Meyer, a 38-year-old mother of six, in her home. Three of her children were at home at the time and tried to come to her aid. The terrorist is still on the loose with a major manhunt underway.
A stabbing attack was thwarted at the western gate to Kiryat Arba near Hebron when a female terrorist armed with a knife was captured.
At 1:36 pm, a terrorist was shot and killed at Bahad (Base) 3 in Samaria. The terrorist attempted to stab soldiers at the IDF compound.
This morning, at 8:10 am, three terrorists armed with knives and on their way to an attack were caught in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem.
There have also been numerous “rock” and Molotov attacks during the day.
–>Further information about NGOs operating in Israel as the New NGO Transparency Law is considered.
PM Netanyahu “refined” his position today on the new law proposed by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked. While he still vigorously supports the reporting requirement (all NGOs receiving more than 50% of their funds from abroad must report those sources), he has now decided he is against the part of the law that requires NGO lobbyists in the Knesset to wear a name badge specifying their organization and its funding.
So, between 2012-2014, which 13 NGOs received the most money from foreign sources?
- B’Tselem: The Israel Information Center for Human Rights (29,964,742 shekels)
- Association for Civil Rights (28,476,361)
- Physicians for Human Rights (23,652,000)
- HaMoked–Center for the Defense of Palestinians (18,679,869)
- Rabbis for Human Rights (16,692,638)
- Yesh Din–Volunteers for Human Rights (16,344,839)
- Adalah–Palestinian Legal Defense (15,580916)
- Bimkom–Human Rights in Municipal Planning (13,518,799)
- Ore Kita–Human Rights in Education (10,546,041)
- Breaking the Silence (9,710,679)
- Ir Amim: Defending Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem (9,034,178)
- Mossawa–Defending Palestinian Rights (8,570,324)
- Public Committee Against Torture (8,543,986)
Human rights, human rights, human rights. Human rights for everyone except Israeli Jews. It’s enough to make you sick.
–>Al-Jazeera America comes to an end.
In what can only be described as a wonderful piece of news, the violently anti-Israel television network Al-Jazeera announced two days ago that it will be shutting down its American offices in April.
Al-Jazeera, which has been running numerous programs critical of Israel during the last two years, has only been able to garner fewer than 19,000 viewers a day despite the massive investment made by the Qatari royal family. That investment has become increasingly unfeasible given the steep drop in the price of oil.
Of course, this begs the question of what other positive benefits will we reap from the drop in oil prices?
TODAY’S BLOG:
With so much insanity swirling about us today, your humble servant thought he would put it to you, dear reader, to decide which one of the following three examples provides the best definition of insanity?
Example 1: The comments of Shimon Peres.
Our dear former President Peres, one of the architects of the abominable Oslo Accords which resulted in 169 Palestinian suicide bombers who blew more than 1100 Israeli children, women, and men to pieces, discussed the Chairman of the PLO Mahmoud Abbas in an interview published this week in the German magazine Der Spiegel.
Peres didn’t mention that Abbas wrote his thesis at Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow on the subject of how the Holocaust was greatly exaggerated, or that Abbas was one of the founders of the PLO, or that Abbas was the terrorist financier of the Munich Massacre, or that Abbas was an architect of the First and Second Intifadas, or that Abbas has spent the last few years doing everything he can to incite violence against Israelis.
No, all Peres had to say was:
“Mahmoud Abbas is a brave man. I have met him many times, and I conducted negotiations with him. He wants peace and fights terror.”
How insane is Peres’ statement?
Example 2: The actions of the Swedish government.
As we all know by now, it turns out that the egregious sexual attacks on German women by Muslim immigrant men on New Year’s Eve also took place in other areas of Europe, notably Sweden. In fact, it appears that the Swedish police have been sweeping attacks of Muslim men on Swedish women under the rug.
It is no surprise that Swedes are now emigrating from the country in record numbers as more Muslim immigrants pour in.
At the same time, numerous newly-Swedish Muslims, both men, and women, are going back to Syria and Iraq to fight for IS. Yet, as Muslims come into Europe and carry out criminal and terrorist attacks and go to Syria and Iraq, take a look at what the Swedes are doing.
Training Muslim women snipers.
How insane is this?
3. The actions of France and Russia.
Well, it didn’t take the Iranians long. Minutes after had Western appeasers deposited $100 billion in its coffers yesterday, Tehran announced military deals with France and Russia totaling more than $20 billion dollars.
France will be selling Iran an unknown number of advanced combat aircraft as well as cutting-edge radar systems. Russia will be providing hundreds of tanks, missiles, and advanced munitions.
Can the U.S., U.K., and Germany be far behind?
Much of the weaponry is earmarked for Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, Houtis in Yemen, and terror groups targeting Jordan, the Egyptian Sinai, the Emirates, and–of course–Saudi Arabia.
How insane has this whole Iranian nuclear appeasement been? The very countries that were supposedly seeking to make sure that Iranian military activities were curtailed are now rushing in to sell and supply Iran with military weapons. In doing so, they are placing the entire world at risk.
So there you have it.
Which example better illustrates insanity? The words of Shimon Peres, the actions of the Swedish government, or the actions of Russia and France?
