UPDATES: 7:00 pm, Israel time

–>Palestinian terror.

It has been another bloody day here in Israel.

An Israeli woman was gruesomely stabbed in Tekoa this morning at 10:24 am. 30-year-old Michal Forman, the pregnant wife of a Tekoa rabbi, was shopping for clothes in the Tekoa Industrial Zone when a Palestinian terrorist pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed her in the upper body. As of this hour, Michal is in “moderate condition” in a hospital in Jerusalem, and doctors have determined that her unborn baby was miraculously not harmed. The terrorist was shot and critically wounded.

Another stabbing attack was thwarted today at the Shuafat stop for the Jerusalem Light Rail Train. A terrorist armed with a knife was captured by alert police.

Other attacks have taken place all day long.

In the morning, Palestinans rioted in Ras Al-Amud and Qalandiya. Passengers on an Israeli bus near Aqraba were wounded by Palestinian “rock” throwers. This afternoon, attacks have occurred in Samaria, Silwan, and A-Tur among other places.

–>Palestinian terror in the last 4 months.

Israel’s emergency care service, Magen David Adom (MADA), released the following statistics yesterday. In the last 4 months:

*there have been more than 200 stabbing and bulldozer attacks targeting Israelis.

*29 Israelis have been murdered.

*289 Israelis have been wounded: 25 of them gravely, 8 critically, 43 seriously, 11 moderately and 202 lightly.

*More than 100 Israelis have been hospitalized suffering from trauma.

–>The money keeps pouring into Iran.

In a little noticed addendum to the releasing of $100 billion to Iran two days ago, the United States also paid Iran $1.7 billion yesterday.

Apparently, this $1.7 billion included $400 million of Iranian funds that had been frozen for years in various U.S. banks plus another $1.3 billion in interest.

Can you wrap your mind around this?

A country is classified as a terrorist country by a succession of U.S. Administrations, and its funds are frozen. Then along comes the Obama Administration which not only agrees to return the frozen funds–but also agrees to pay the country more than 3 times the original amount in interest.

Unbelievable.

Well, not really. Is there anything that the Obama-Kerry appeasement team will not agree to give Iran?

By the way, Iran and Russia announced this morning that by the end of this month, they will sign a deal whereby Iran will buy numerous Russian attack helicopters.

–>Iran continues to thumb its nose at the United States.

Iranian Defense Minister Hussein Dahkan told the U.S. yesterday that it will continue to develop its ballistic missile program despite the Democratic Party Iranian Nuclear Weapons Appeasement Agreement.

Responding to American imposition of sanctions on individuals and companies because of Iranian ballistic missile production and test-firings, Dahkan laughingly said: “Any attempt to impose sanctions on Iran under various pretexts  is a sign of the US hostility against us, and it will not be able to undermine Iran’s defensive power.”

Defensive power? Sure thing. Ballistic missiles designed to deliver nuclear warheads to annihilate Israel.

–>European gun ownership explodes.

Following the New Year’s Eve attacks across Europe, gun ownership has dramatically increased across Europe–particularly in Germany and Austria–and particularly among women.

According to the Austrian Interior Ministry, one in every three crimes is carried out by Muslim immigrants into the country.

By the way, Angela Merkel announced in Germany yesterday that her country will build deportation centers to hold Moroccan and Algerian “asylum seekers” until they can be deported.

Your humble servant has to laugh.

This is the same Germany that has endlessly criticized Israel for setting up several detention facilities where illegal infiltrators into Israel can be held before being deported.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Daphna Meir and her beloved husband Natan.

Dafna Meir and her beloved husband Natan.

Another bright, shining, heroic light has been extinguished by Palestinian terrorism in Israel.

Dafna Meir, a nurse at Soroka Hospital, a mother of six children including several that she and her husband adopted (Dafna herself was adopted), a woman who was known for infectiously funny and loving spirit, was brutally stabbed to death yesterday at the front door of her home in Otniel.

How heroic was she yesterday?

She somehow managed to fight with her bare hands against her attacker as he repeatedly stabbed her–in an effort to not only save herself but also to save her children in the house. When her 17-year-old daughter Renana ran downstairs to respond to her screams, she was still fighting with the terrorist.

According to Dafna’s daughter, the only reason that the terrorist did not attack her and the other children was that the terrorist stabbed Dafna so deeply that he could not wrench the knife out of her body to continue the attack. He subsequently fled to a nearby Palestinian settlement (his running away from Otniel was captured on the community’s security video).

Dafna was buried in Jerusalem Givat Shmuel cemetery this afternoon in a funeral attended by 1500 mourners.

Her husband tearfully delivered these words:

“My Dafna was one in a million, a person who was able to recover and grow from a difficult childhood. Because of her childhood, Daphne decided to restore kindness to the world.

We met as soldiers on the south Lebanon border; it only took a moment for us to fall in love. You took my hand and told me that you had one condition for getting married to me. You said: ‘No matter how many children we have, we will adopt more children.’

I am just just grateful for every minute we had with you. Six treasures you have left me; I will keep them for you.

May your memory be forever blessed.
