One Charade Over, Another Begins

So Barak has finally left Labor to form the Atzmanut Party. Barak’s charade of being aligned with Labor has ended, and now the farce of starting a new party which will go nowhere and get no votes in the next election has begun. In truth, Barak should form the Barak party–the only thing he cares about is himself–and his possible ascendancy to the Prime Ministership again. Why does Bibi keep him around? Two reasons apparently: from a purely practical perspective, having Barak in the government makes Netanyahu look more centrist. From a purely personal perspective, Netanyahu respects Barak as his former IDF commander–and as someone who can apparently make hard decisions about Iran (though your humble servant doubts this).
