Amona and the Proposed Registration Law Continued . . .
Does anyone really know what is going on with the Registration Law?
Your humble servant has literally read ten different versions of what happened on Sunday between PM Netanyahu and Education Minister Naftali Bennett as to what they agreed on.
As we blogged yesterday on israelstreet, it would appear that, as amended, the proposed Law means that the Amona community is a “goner” and will be evacuated. However, we have reports that Netanyahu has indicated that a “Jewish presence” will remain at the Amona site, and even the Jerusalem Post is headlined this morning with “Settlement Bill Advances as Amona Hangs in the Balance.”
And what are we to make about the members of Bennett’s Jewish Home party all congratulating themselves on a landmark piece of legislation which according to them is the most significant legislation that has happened involving Judea and Samaria since 1967.
Actually, the Israeli “Left” seems to agree with that analysis.
According to “Peace Now”, the new law will retroactively legalize 3921 structures built on so-called “private Palestinian land” of which 2,744 are permanent buildings and trailers in more than 72 communities encompassing some 8,000 acres in Judea and Samaria.
Peace Now claims that some of the affected communties are Shiloh, Esh Kodish, Givat Harel, Gilad Farm,Abigail, Elon Moreh, Itamar, Bracha, Yitzhar, Beit El, Ofra, Beit Horon, Mevo Horon, Dolev, Talmon, Karmi Tsur, Neve Daniel, Sussiya, Ma’ale Amos, Kiryat Arba, Kedumim, and Karni Shomron.
Inasmuch as Bennett himself is crowing this morning that the agreement is another step on the way to annexing Area C, Peace Now’s analysis may be correct.
As much as your humble servant would like to see this take place, I think Bennett and others are putting the cart before the horse. There is no doubt in my mind that the Israel Supreme Court will immediately declare the Registration Law unconstitutional.
We’ll see what happens then. In the meantime, the proposed Law has to make it through three readings in the Knesset which is no easy task.
Speaking of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria
Information was published yesterday that reveals that the son-in-law of President-elect Donald Trump has been a major funder of Jewish communities.
Via a family financial fund, Jared Kushner and his siblings donated more than a hundred thousand dollars between 2010-2014 to such organizations as “American Friends of Yeshivat Beit El” (whose president happens to be David Friedman, a senior advisor to Trump); the Etzion Foundation which supports Yeshivat Har Etzion, Migdal Oz, and Herzog College; and the Yitzhar community with its Yosef Hai Yeshiva.
This is not to mention donations made by the Kushner Foundation to Friends of the IDF, and the Sha’are Zedek Medical Center.

The Fight Against BDS Ramps Up
A rather amazing and wonderful event occurred yesterday at Ben Gurion Airport.
Dr. Isabel Apawo Phiri of Malawi, a renowned academic and ecumenist who also happens to be the associate general secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva, was denied entry into Israel.
Why?
Because the WCC organization she represents actively supports and promotes the BDS movement against Israel. The WCC does this through its work with EAPPI, the “Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel.” According to its website, EAPPI’s mission is “to witness life under occupation, engage with local Palestinians and Israelis pursuing a just peace, to change the international community’s involvement in the conflict, urging them to act against injustice in the region.”
In short, EAPPI and WCC work tirelessly to delegitimize Israel, and one way they do this is through avid support of BDS.
The action yesterday was not taken lightly; it involved a joint decision of the Minister of the Interior, Aryeh Deri, and the Minister of Strategic Affairs who is in charge of boycotts against Israel, Gilad Erdan. It is the first time that such a significant pro-BDS personnage arriving on a tourist visa was denied entry.
The good news is that what happened yesterday should put non-Jewish and Jewish BDS supporters around the world on notice. Israel has your name, you are entered into a database, and you will not be able to enter Israel.
Because of this dysfunction, men fail to develop and sustain erection while they are sexually online cialis http://cute-n-tiny.com/cute-animals/turtle-eating-strawberry/ simulated. The psychogenic erections are usually initiated in response to auditory, soft cialis pills visual, and olfactory or other imaginary stimuli. Penis Enlargement Treatment is now on line viagra cute-n-tiny.com became the huge industry. It has become easier to treat sex levitra fast delivery related problems such as premature ejaculation, weak erections, impotency, low volume of semen, frequent nocturnal emissions etc.
And that is not the only database operating these days.
In case you missed it, Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo also published a list this past week–a list of businesses that the state of New York will no longer do business with because of their support for BDS.
In doing so, Cuomo eloquently declared:
“New York stands in solidarity with Israel today and always. This state will not stand for the politics of discrimination in any form, and we will continue to demonstrate our unwavering support for the people of Israel in the fight for freedom, liberty and democracy.”
The New York blacklist:
Cactus SA, a Luxembourg supermarket chain
Vitens, the largest drinking water company in the Netherlands
Freedom Call UK, a British telecom company
Co-Operative Group, a Briish food retailer
KLP Kapitalforvaltning, a Norwegian asset management company
Kommunal, the Swedish municipal workers’ union
Triodos, a Dutch bank
Betsah SA, a Dutch company
Betsah Invest SA, a Dutch Bank
Guloguz Dis Deposu Ticaret Ve Pazarlama, a Turkish dental supply company
Royal Haskoning DHV, a Dutch project management company
It should be pointed that the first U.S. state to publish such a list was Illinois. That list has some of the same businesses as the New York list, but also some others:
Electrocomponents of Britain
Karsten Farms of South Africa
GS4, a British security firm
Dexia Bank of Belgium
All of the above had divested from investments in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.
When he reads all of the above information about BDS, your humble servant is heartened, but it just means that we all have to work even harder to support Israel.
What have you done for Israel today?
