May His Memory Be For A Blessing

Sgt. Major (Res.) Omer Moshe Gaeldor, 30 from Jerusalem, Golani Brigade, fell in battle in southern Lebanon when hit by a drone explosion.

The Photo of the Day

Israeli commando “Roee” who lost both of his legs in Gaza surprised his unit at their beret ceremony–and handed out the berets himself.

More on the IDF Fallen

It is fair to say that every regional council in Israel has suffered major losses in the wars. Yesterday, the Benjamin Regional Council revealed that since October 7th last year, 50 soldiers from Benjamin have died: 13 were killed on October 7th, 35 more have been killed in battle since then; in addition, 2 were murdered in terror attacksand two more remain hostages in Gaza.

The War in the North

According to the IDF, “approximately” 75 missiles and drones were launched against northern Israel yesterday.

The War in Gaza

*PM Netanyahu went to the Netzarim Corridor in Gaza yesterday along with new Defense Minister Israel Katz. While there he made three pronouncements:

1. Hamas will never again control Gaza.

2. Israel will hunt down everyone who has our hostages.

3. On the other hand, Israel will pay $5,000,000 for each hostage released–and assure safe passage out of Gaza for the terrorist and his family who is holding the hostage.

*In a carefully planned ambush, soldiers from the Shaked Battalion of the Givati Brigade killed about 40 terrorists between Monday and Tuesday who tried to escape from the Jabaliya in northern Gaza.

Because of the rain and fog, the commander of the division, Itzik Cohen, realized that this was a night that the terrorists would try to escape and he set up tank ambushes and snipers.

The fighting in Jabaliya continues led by the 162 Division; in the past three weeks, more than 1,300 terrorists have been captured and over 1,350 have been killed.

*The “Humanitarian” farce also continues. The despicable UNRWA (which still operates in Gaza) reported/claimed that 97 of the 109 “humanitarian” trucks that entered Gaza this past weekend were “violently robbed” and seized by “terrorists.”

We wrote “claimed” in the previous sentence because we all know that UNRWA works hand in hand with Hamas.

On the Ground in Judea and Samaria

A Palestinian terrorist who attacked security personnel at the Shuafat Crossing near Jerusalem was shot and killed. No Israelis were wounded.

A Major Legal Precedent

The PLO in Ramallah was ordered yesterday to pay 46 million shekels to the victims, and orphans of those killed in the suicide bombing at the Sbarro Pizza Restaurant in Jerusalem on August 9 2001. 16 people including 7 children and a pregnant woman were murdered in the attack.

The money will come from Palestinian tax funds frozen by Israel.

The ruling was based on a new law that requires punitive damages to be paid to each victim.

RAIN RAIN AND MORE RAIN

From the Times of Israel:

“The Israel Meteorological Service said in a tweet that 196 millimeters (7.7 inches) of rainfall were recorded over a four-hour period in Zichron Yaacov, setting a new record for the country. The figure represented some 60% of the area’s average yearly rain total.
