May His Memory Be For A Blessing

Capt. Omer Maxim Neutra, 21, a lone soldier who immigrated from New York, commander of a tank division in the 77th Battalion, ‘Ozabat Sa’ar of the Golan’ ( 7).

Capt. Neutra was engaged in the forefront of battle on October 7th of last year when his tank was overrun by terrorists who were crossing the border into Israel.

Neutra’s tank:

It was believed that Omer was alive and being held in Gaza. Yesterday, the IDF reported–based on new intel–that he was killed on October 7th and his body is being held in Gaza.

Two other members of the tank crew were killed and their bodies are also being held in Gaza; the fate of the fourth member of the crew is unknown but it is believed that he is alive and a hostage.

Speaking of the hostages, President-elect Trump fired off this tweet yesterday:

We don’t know what Trump has in mind, but “ALL HELL TO PAY” certainly expresses Trump’s state of mind on the issue. It is 48 days until Trump’s deadline.

The War in the North

As regular readers of OneIsrael know, each day of the ceasefire has seen numerous Hezbollah violations of the terms of the ceasefire. Each of these violations has been answered with IDF or IAF action.

Yesterday, the ever abominable Amos Hochstein, who is President Biden’s emissary and the American mediator in charge of monitoring the ceasefire, declared “There are Israeli violations of the cease-fire agreement.” He did not say a word about Hezbollah violations. He went further and said that “one of the most prominent violations is the return of Israeli bombers to the skies of Beirut.”

Of course, we shouldn’t expect any other type of comment from the egregiously pro-Lebanese Hochstein who has gone out of his way in past negotiations to throw Israel under the bus.

Speaking of Hezbollah violations, the terrorists fired two missiles at the Mt. Dov area yesterday. In response, the IAF struck 30 targets in southern Lebanon overnight. In addition, an Israeli drone also eliminated a terrorist on a motorcycle near Marjayon.

As you can see from the above, the ceasefire is fragile at best though both the Lebanese and Israel indicated to the Bidenites in Washington this morning that they remain committed to it. However, as we noted at the outset of the ceasefire, Hezbollah is not a signatory.

One last word about Hezbollah. After proclaiming two days ago that it would not send soldiers to support Assad in Syria, Hezbollah reversed course yesterday and stated it was sending troops to Syria to bolster the Hezbollah forces already there.

On the Ground in Gaza

*Hamas continues to launch missiles out of Gaza–from the “humanitarian area” in Khan Younis. Yesterday at 6:00 pm, several missiles were fired at Ein HaShlosha and Nirim on the Gaza border. The missiles were successfully intercepted–but it remains almost incomprehensible that missiles can still be fired.

*The Givati Patrol released information yesterday about the ongoing battle they have had at the “Al Khartani” school in the heart of Jabaliya where Hamas terrorists have been holed up in underground complexes.

Several days ago in a two-hour battle, our soldiers eliminated 33 terrorists in face-to-face and aerial battles.

*The New York Times has published an “expose” that we all have known about for months--that the IDF has expanded the Netzerim Corridor between north and central Gaza and built a large military base therein:

The above satellite photo is no secret; it attests to the fact that the area has been expanded to 18 square kilometers. It also attests to the fact that the IDF is preparing for a long stay in Gaza.

*A letter purportedly sent to the Biden Administration by 300 Israeli doctors demanding an end to the Gaza war has been made public. The gist of it can be seen in this sentence: “We can no longer remain silent in the face of the disaster that is happening in Gaza today. ..and we beg you – please, stop the madness”.

What is not so well known is that the person behind the letter, Dr. Dafna Bagon is among the most radical of Israeli leftists.

Among other things, she is intent on releasing the names of all Israeli pilots so that they can be prosecuted abroad. As for other soldiers in the IDF, Bagon has written: “This is what I see when I look at [soldiers] wearing the uniform, absolute evil . . . IDF soldiers are murderers.”

Bagon belongs in the lowest circle of hell along with Bogie Ya’alon who we commented on yesterday.

And so it goes in Israel today . . . so far . . .
