Once again, it has denied a petition by the lawyer of one of the minors arrested (without charges) in the Duma arson. The lawyer had argued that not only is the continued detention/arrest of his client illegal because it exceeds the 21 day limit on such “detentions/arrests”, but also because Shin Bet is employing torture in an attempt to get the minor to confess. Moreover, the lawyer said that the continued blocking of legal access to his client grossly violates his client’s civil rights.

Let’s see if you can follow the Court’s absurd line of reasoning.

The judges, Uzi Fogelman, Manny Mazuz and Daphne Barak-Erez, declared that they could not find a “rationale” to support the petition despite the fact that “they do not take lightly” the continued prevention of a meeting between the suspect and his lawyer, which “harms the basic rights of the petitioner to consult with his lawyer.”

In other words, the lawyer is right: denial of legal access violates the basic rights of the minor. But this does not provide a reason to allow him access.

Say what?

The so-called “judges” then blathered that preventing a minor from seeing a lawyer “stands within the rule of law.”

What law? The law of a banana republic.

By the way, in Herzog’s other news of the day, he unbelievably rebuked several legislators in his party for supporting the fight against Breaking the Silence–another action which shows just how far over the edge he is, and just how little he cares about Zionism.

You will pardon your humble servant if he is less than enthusiastic about David’s Sling. At last count, Hezbollah has some 200,000 missiles pointed at us. Each David’s Sling missile costs 3.5 million shekels (nearly $1,000,000). You can do the math.

Not only will Israel never have nearly enough missiles to stop a full-on Hezbollah attack (Israel even ran short of Iron Dome interceptor missiles in the war last year), but also such an attack would bankrupt the country.

A new video emerged yesterday (courtesy of MEMRI) of Algerian Army troops marching through their base to the cadence of  “Kill the Jews, Slaughter the Jews, Skin the Jews!”

Not to be left out, the Palestinians chimed in with their own “kill the Jews” chant yesterday.

The head of the Sharia courts in the Palestinian Authority, Taysir Tamimi, gave a speech in which he reminded all Palestinians “At the end of days Muslims will fight the Jews and kill them; even if the Jews hide behind the tree and rock, Allah will  . . . direct the Muslims to the hiding place of the Jews to come and kill them.”

Arab culture from Lebanon to Algeria to Ramallah is nothing but pathetically sick.
