***Palestinian terror in the last 6 hours . . .
A horrific stabbing attack took place just outside the Jaffa Gate into the Old City of Jerusalem just before 4 pm. Three Israelis were badly wounded by two terrorists who stabbed them repeatedly: one man is in grave condition, one critical, and one serious.
The man who is in grave condition was stabbed 20 times in his back.
Two Border Policewomen who were on the scene opened fire killing one terrorist immediately–the second died shortly thereafter.
Both terrorists were from Qalandiya and both had been in Israeli prison before for terrorism and attempted terrorism. One of them had served time for approaching a checkpoint with a knife.
***Another day, another U.N. resolution against Israel . . .
This time, the General Assembly has passed a resolution requiring Israel to pay $850 million dollars to Lebanon for damages caused by an oil spill that occurred in 2006 during the way with Hezbollah.
Say what?
Hezbollah was firing thousands of missiles at Israel, and Lebanon wants Israel to pay it for damage that occurred when we fired back?
By the way, the vote was 170-6 with three abstentions. Who sided with Israel in voting against? The Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Australia, Canada, and the U.S.
***An interesting WIN/Gallup poll on the favorability of Barack Obama . . .
The number after each country indicates a “net score” denoting the difference between “Favorable” and “Unfavorable” responses. For example, 83% more people in Kosovo like Obama than dislike him.

What about Israelis?
61st on the list of 65 with a rating of -22%. In other words, 22% more Israelis dislike Obama than like him.
Obviously, the residents of only 4 other places like Obama less than Israelis: Armenia (-43%), Pakistan (-45%), the Palestinian Territories (-68%), and Russia (-83%).
***Do you want to live longer and healthier in Israel?
Just become an orthodox Jew.
According to a report just out from the Taub Institute, Orthodox men and women live longer and healthier because of multiple friendships, high satisfaction with family relationships, and intense social interaction within the community including such activities as volunteering.
In fact, the numbers are quite striking with only 18.7% of Orthodox reporting a health problem compared to twice that many in the general population. Haredi men also live about 3 years longer than their non-orthodox counterparts, whereas Haredi women live about 1.5 years longer.
TODAY’S BLOG:
In Israel, we have become all too accustomed to the attempted Palestinian appropriation of Jewish history, Jewish holy places, and Judaism itself.
As we have continually pointed out here on israelstreet, the goal of the Palestinians is to erase 3300+ years of Jewish history in Israel and replace that history with invented Palestinian, Muslim, and Arab histories.
Just this past week, we had Tayser Tamimi, the head of the PLO Shariah Law Ministry, proclaiming yet again that Palestinian history began 3000 years ago at which time the Al-Aksa Mosque was built, that Kings David and Solomon were figments of the imagination, and there is not a scintilla of evidence that Jews ever were in Jerusalem.
Never mind that the First and Second Jewish Temples sat on the Temple Mount for a thousand years, or that the word “Palestine” was invented by the Roman Hadrian after the 3rd Jewish War in 135 CE, or that historians, including Arab ones, have long since established that the Al-Aksa Mosque was built in 690 CE.
Never mind any of that.
What was Jewish history is constantly being repackaged as Palestinian history.
Your humble servant was thinking about this today as he read a story out of the University of San Diego. An Iranian-American professor of theology has started a movement to have students and faculty wear yellow Holocaust Jewish stars on campus to protest against what she calls “Islamophobia.”
But not merely yellow Holocaust Jewish stars. They are stars containing the word “Muslim” along with the Muslim crescent.
That professor, Bahar Davary, dissembled that her movement is “not intended to make an analogy between the current situation of Muslims in the U.S. to that of Jews in Germany and wider Europe before the Holocaust . . . This is a class/campus project to raise awareness against Islamophobia. The yellow Star of David with the word Muslim written on it is a symbol that my students and I wear with utmost respect for the memory of the Jewish lives lost.”
What a pathetic joke.
Especially considering Davary’s Iranian background–an Iran that still holds conferences that claim that the Holocaust never happened, and still has a nuclear weapons program whose only goal is to wipe out the six million Jews now living in Israel.
And especially considering the role that Muslims under the direction of the Mufti of Jerusalem played in rounding up and killing Jews during the Holocaust–even to the point of having their own unit in the SS.
But more than this, the use of the Jewish star is nothing more than the most egregious form of cultural appropriation and a gross form of disrespect of the Jews who died in or survived the Holocaust.
It fits right in with the Palestinian narrative.
