The News on the Israel Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
*In an almost completely unreported terror event yesterday, Hagai Goldstein, a 16-year-old from Kfar Adumim, was run over and killed by a Palestinian truck driver beside Ramot in northeastern Jerusalem.
After the attack, the terrorist fled to Halayla where he was eventually captured by the police. That this incident was not covered by the leftist Israeli and international media is unsurprising but also disgusting.
Apparently no one cares if an orthodox Jew is murdered.
Hagai Goldstein (2001-2017)
May his memory be blessed.
*A Palestinian terrorist armed with a knife was captured near Nabi Saleh. No Israelis were wounded.
*Molotovs and “rocks” were used by Palestinian terrorists throughout Judea and Samaria from Hizma to Hawara to Hevron.
Maybe we have something to learn from the Europeans after all . . .
In yesterday’s blog (click here), your humble servant declared that there is nothing the Europeans can teach Israel about terror. Perhaps that statement should be amended.
Yesterday the Mayor of Venice, Italy said that he was ordering more snipers for St. Mark’s Square, and added: “I have ordered them to shoot anyone who yells ‘Allahu Akbar.'”
How refreshing.
And how politically incorrect. The Mayor’s announcement came in the wake of his revelation that a cell of four Muslim terrorists had been arrested last month in Venice just as they were about to blow up the Rialto Bridge.
The mayor added: “The terrorists said they wanted to meet Allah, so we will send them directly to Allah, without having to throw them off of the bridge.”
And speaking of politically incorrect, how about the head of the Polish National Security office, Faol Solok, who said yesterday that Poland will not allow more Muslims to immigrate to the country.
How refreshing.
He added: “I am witness to an increase in the number of Muslim refugees at the same time as a wave of terror has swept Europe. Muslim communities find it difficult to integrate into society and are fertile ground for rising terrorism.”
Ironically, Solok’s announcement came shortly before a policeman in Warsaw was stabbed in the face yesterday by a Muslim terrorist.
And then again, maybe we don’t have anything to learn . . .
The actions of two European judges yesterday can only be described as bizarre. In the first, a Spanish judge released one of the terrorists implicated in the Barcelona attacks saying that there was evidence he participated, “but not enough evidence.”
This was followed by a judge in Rotterdam who released with no explanation the driver of a van that was loaded with gas canisters . . .
. . . rigged to blow up at a concert of the band Allah-Las (by the way, the stabbing in Warsaw was at a venue where Allah-Las was also scheduled to perform).
Hello world . . . is anyone paying attention to Iran? . . .
For all of the idiots who supported the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Appeasement Agreement, were any of them listening to Iran say a few days ago that it would only take 5 days to increase its uranium enrichment to 20%?
And that they will do so if sanctions are levied against Iran by the U.S.
5 days, 20%.
And a few weeks from then? A much higher level of enrichment.
And after that? Nuclear weapons.
And the world sleeps.

About the Lebanese beauty queen . . .
In a country where migrating birds and party balloons are looked upon as Israeli spies, it was not surprising yesterday when Amanda Hanna was stripped of her title as “2017 Miss Lebanon Emigrant.”
After all, Hanna traveled to Israel last year on her Swedish passport (her parents are Swedish and Lebanese), and then had the audacity to write that she was “wrong” about Israel, adding: “I’ve gotten to know people who have come to stand close to me & I have developed in particular as a person. It has been a wonderful trip & I am incredibly happy that I participated.”
And so she got the axe.
Three cheers this morning for the brave Amanda Hanna!
TODAY’S BLOG:
The Ongoing Catastrophe in Area C:
“Courtesy” of the Civil Administration
We begin today by asking the apparently simple question: “What is the Civil Administration of Israel?”
It turns out that the answer is complicated. Technically, the Civil Administration is the governing body that operates in Area C of Judea and Samaria to carry out bureaucratic functions. Remember that Area C, according to the Oslo Accords, is under total Israeli administrative and security control.
However, in and of itself, the Civil Administration does not actually govern. It operates under the direction of the utterly abominable and extreme leftist COGAT unit of the IDF (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) which in turn operates at the direction of the leftist IDF General Command.
What exactly is the Civil Administration supposed to do? Supposedly, it oversees economic and infrastructure projects, and everything related to “humanitarian issues” in Area C.
So why is the Civil Administration so reviled in Judea and Samaria?
As is suggested above, the Civil Administration does little else these days except enforce the dictates of its “leftist” leadership, and collude with self-proclaimed “humanitarian groups” on a grand scale. For all practical purposes, it is an arm of the PLO.
These days, the Civil Administration is obsessively attempting to raze Jewish communities and homes in Area C. Just this week, it published “a report” that said that there are 1,285 “illegal” structures that have been built on “private Palestinian land”, and 1085 “illegal” structures that have been built on Israel state land.
“Structures” includes apartment buildings, homes, trailers, and “public buildings.”
According to the Civil Administration, it has issued demolition orders for all of the structures.
What is the problem?
There are actually two.
It turns out that the report is a virtual carbon copy of the recent “report” of Peace Now. As such the report is biased to the point of being unbelievable. Who knows whether any of the information gathered by Peace Now is true or not?
Secondly, the report is egregiously discriminatory. There is not one word about illegal Palestinian structures in Area C–and according to recent estimates there are anywhere between 20,000 and 35,000.
20,000 to 35,000.
As a lawyer for the Jewish communities said yesterday:
” . . . in the field we see a clear discrimination between the enforcement of buildings built by the Israeli population in Judea and Samaria and structures built by Arabs.
There are places where the situation is catastrophic [such as] the area of Highway 1 near Ma’ale Adumim, where the PLO, left-wing organizations, foreign organizations, and the European Union all carry out illegal construction.”
And the Civil Administration says and does nothing.
It is simply astonishing that our own government abets in the Palestinian theft of land in Judea and Samaria and enforces “law” based on reports from Peace Now and others whose only goal is to ethnically cleanse Area C of all Jews.
The situation is indeed catastrophic.
