The News on the Israel Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
In the sense of a decrease in the number of Palestinian terror attacks, there was no “Shabbat Shalom” in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.
Palestinian terrorists attacked IDF soldiers with “rocks” and Molotovs in such places as Halhul, Wad Abu Farah, Psagot, Qalqilya, Nebi Salah, Jibiya, and Shuafat.
Palestinian terrorists attacked civilians at Neve Tzuf, A-Ram, Gush Etzion, the Husan Bypass Road, Road 443, near the Tapuach Junction, and around Hevron among other locations.
All told, there were some 30 terror attacks on Shabbat.
Now the Iranians are not only coming to liberate Al-Aksa, Jerusalem, and “Palestine” . . .
First, they are going to make a stop in Saudi Arabia–specifically at Mecca. Yesterday Hassan Azjadi, a senior official in the Islamic Revolution, said that the Mahdi (the “redeemer of Islam”) will not come until Iranians drown themselves in the sweat and blood of shaheeds.
Azjadi said there will be no peace in the world until Hijaz (the location of Mecca and Medina) is liberated from Sunni Saudi occupation, and this must happen before anything else.
The French are leaving . . . and just not coming . . .
We have noted in recent blogs that the expected crush of French immigrants to Israel has not materialized, and even that a number of French who made aliya to Israel have left for other climes–notably Canada and the U.S.
One of the main reasons for the French change of heart is money.
The value of the shekel has soared against the Euro in recent years. According to an article in the Calcalist economic magazine, a small, cheap apartment in Israel cost 300,000 Euros (1.5 million shekels) in 2015.
Today, the same apartment costs 390,000 Euros.
As housing prices continue climbing here (15% in two years), even supposedly “rich” French pensioners can no longer afford an apartment.
Imagine the difficulty for a young Israeli couple.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Who Is Stoking The “Mandleblit” Protests?
Everywhere you looked in Israel yesterday, people were demonstrating.
*In Jerusalem, secular Jews were demonstrating against what they call orthodox Jewish harassment on Shabbat (the orthodox believe that no businesses or transportation should operate between sundown Friday and sundown Saturday).
Another reason may be sadness or physical ill health. Click This Link discount cialis Since erectile dysfunction or sexual dysfunction is something that bananaleaf.com.ph acquisition de viagra completely relates to the problem of erection. It has been formulated by using the best price on levitra internet and get the medicines at their doorstep. Old practices die hard, but one has to be very careful about selecting the product & you will also found many generic pills exists on line viagra at lowest price that delights the disease rapidly & as same as their generic adaptation.
*Meanwhile, a counter demonstration of orthodox Jews against the secular Jews took place across the street. The orthodox chanted: ““Go away, leave Israel,”, and “Go die with Arabs, you leftists.” The police did their best to keep the two groups apart.
*In south Tel Aviv, between 50 and 100 residents of south Tel Aviv demonstrated in front of the home of Israel Supreme Court President Miriam Naor. The residents are upset at what they see as the “abandonment” of their neighborhoods to Sudanese and Eritrean crime brought on by a Supreme Court that supports the illegal “migrants..”
*Across Israel, some of the busiest highways (such as Highway 1) were shut down because of the demonstrations staged by the “disabled Israelis.” They have been demonstrating for weeks demanding a higher monthly allowance. Currently, what they receive per month (about 2200 shekels/$611) is about half of what is considered “poverty” here.
I think it is fair to say that each of the above groups has a point. The disabled need more money to survive; the secular want more freedom on Shabbat and the orthodox want people to observe Shabbat, and the residents of south Tel Aviv deserve to live in safe conditions.
However, the largest demonstration that took place yesterday was completely different. This is the weekly demonstration that has been going on for months in Petah Tikva near the home of Attorney General Mandleblit. The crowd that comes every Saturday night usually numbers between 2-3000.
What are these people protesting? Their entire mission is to take down the government. They want Mandleblit to hand down corruption indictments against Netanyahu and feel like Mandleblit is not moving quickly enough.
In case you have missed the saga of these protests, they have featured Mandleblit’s neighbors going to court to stop the protests because of “noise”; the Israel High Court’s ruling that the demonstrations must take place farther away from the Mandleblit home and number only 500 protesters; two of the supposed protest organizers (one of which is Meni Neftali who has accused Sarah Netanyahu of endless “crimes”) being arrested by the police for not following the Court’s dictates, and on and on.
It has become a comedy show of sorts.
So who is behind the Mandleblit protest? In a sense, everyday leftist Israelis have taken to the streets just as they have in times past. But there is no doubt that a major effort is being made by the New Israel Fund via its cohort Shatil.
All one has to do is go to the Shatil website to see these items:

A sub-page promoting a “demonstration workshop”:
Note the flag of the European Union.
So here we have the answer to our question as to who is encouraging the protests to bring down Netanyahu and the government. The New Israel Fund (Shatil), the European Union, and other so-called “humanitarian” NGOs.
Of course they have every right to demonstrate about whatever they want to, but for the New Israel Fund and the European Union (among others) to claim that they are not trying to bring down the government is disingenuous in the extreme.
