The Funny 25 Second Video of Yesterday
Watch as a group of people at a beach in Yaffo flee as the police approach: click here. Running to nearby Charles Clore Park, the bathers were trying to avoid being fined.
Being fined can be expensive. Last week, an ultra-orthodox family confined to a Corona Hotel was found walking in a nature park adjacent to the hotel. They were fined 50,000 shekels ($14,700).
The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona (Covid-19) update . . .
There are 290,493 confirmed cases—an increase of 618
228,658 of these confirmed cases have recovered—an increase of 2,993
824 are in critical condition—a decrease of 13
230 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—a decrease of 7
1,980 have died–an increase of 39
There are now 61,835 active Corona cases in Israel.
This will sound odd, but don’t believe the above numbers as an accurate picture of the Corona situation this morning. Apparently, the Health Ministry forgot to update the numbers at midnight. That coupled with an almost total lack of testing over the last few days–especially among the haredi population–produces the numbers you see above. Expect a spike tomorrow.
Some interesting Corona facts about testing. Since the original outbreak of the epidemic in March:
61.7% of the residents of ultra-orthodox cities have been tested
45.2% of the residents of secular cities have been tested

TODAY’S BLOG
The Palestinian Country of Gaza
“Gaza residents are looking for junk food in the wake of the escalation of poverty in Gaza to an unprecedented rate. There is despair and hopelessness. More and more people are having difficulty providing a meal or two a day to their families.”
Philip Lazrini, Head of the Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA)
For crying out loud. How many times over the past 30 years have we heard about the poor starving Palestinians? Every time that UNRWA is trying to fund a new budget, we suddenly hear about Palestinians starving in the street.
Several years ago, Palestinians were rated among the most obese people in the Middle East.
By the way, Lazrini also let it be known that there are now 5.6 million Palestinian “refugees”, a number that continues growing by the day. From an extremely high estimate of 800,000 refugees in 1948–all but about 50,000 of whom have now died–we now have 5.6 million refugees.
It is beyond absurd.
One more thing. Isn’t it about time to stop calling Gaza “Gaza”? Or calling Gaza “the Gaza Strip.” Gaza is the “Palestinian Country of Gaza.” It has a size and population that exceeds a number of other countries in the word.
To call it “Gaza” or “the Gaza Strip” makes it seem that we are dealing with some entity that has no government, no social-welfare-health system, no military, and no educational system. The Palestinian Country of Gaza has all of these and much more despite the best efforts of UNRWA whose sole purpose is to fraudulently propagandize the “terrible condition” of the “poor Palestinians.”
