Idiotic Quote of the Day

“Which Hollywood dumbass thought it would be a good idea to cast an Israeli actress as Cleopatra (a very bland looking one) instead of a stunning Arab actress like Nadine Njeim? And shame on you, Gal Gadot. Your country steals Arab land & you’re stealing their movie roles . . .”

Sameera Khan, Pakistani journalist, one of hundreds of social media idiots who went online yesterday to condemn Gal Gadot for “cultural appropriation” for taking the role of Cleopatra Paramount’s upcoming movie of the same name that we discussed in yesterday’s blog.

Hmm . . . now why were Khan’s and the others’ comments idiotic?

It is unnecessary to refutes the fraud that Israel is “stealing Arab land”. But as anyone who knows history knows, Cleopatra was neither Arab nor Egyptian. In fact she was the last member of the Ptolemaic dynasty–which began with Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian general who was a cohort of Alexander the Great. Cleopatra’s native language was Koine Greek (a Macedonian dialect of Greek).

And no, Sameera, Gal Gadot is not “bland” in appearance:

Some of these problems are strictly physical ones, but depression viagra pill for sale was also reported.
There are now 55,350 active Corona cases in Israel.

A jump in test results processed yesterday (47,136) and a corresponding jump in the number of confirmed cases–as we predicted yesterday. Another jump in the number of daily dead, but a huge increase in the number who have recovered. In fact, the Health Ministry has never revealed how it determines who has recovered so we don’t know why the number is so large today.

So . . . consider all the above, and then consider that Corona Czar Ronni Gamzu and Health Ministry Director-General Itamar Grotto decided yesterday that the situation has so much improved that preschools would be reopened on October 18 as probably would Grades 1 and 2.

But wait . . . we then had the voice of sanity, Public Health Services Head Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis proclaiming that schools will not be able to reopen because the number of newly confirmed cases has not dropped to below 2000 a day and the R rate (reproduction rate) has not yet dropped under 1.

So what will happen? Will the schools open or not? Remember that we have yet to hear from the Netanyahu-Gantz Corona Virus Cabinet,  the Knesset Corona Commission, the Knesset in general, PM Netanyahu or even Health Minister Yuli Edelstein (never mind what Edelstein’s Director-General said).

Once again, can you see why Israelis are exasperated with the different signals coming from the government about everything?

What is more, this exasperation has led to virtually no one following the Corona restrictions because no one really knows what the restrictions are.

Speaking of those restrictions, the Corona Virus Cabinet is meeting today to decide on allowing the following:

*people being able to travel further than 1 km from their residence (everyone is already doing this anyway)

*the reopening of businesses that do not serve customers

*takeaway from restaurants (restaurants have already found away to circumvent the “no-takeway” restriction

*the reopening of beaches (maskless people are already going to beaches)

*the reopening of nature reserves

Will any of the above happen? Who knows? Again at least 5 different entities have to sign off on whatever the Cabinet decides.

Total dysfunction.
