The Quote of the Day

Nili Margalit, accompanied by a Red Cross worker and two masked HamISIS terrorists being released back on November 30.

“The terrorists who kidnapped me [on October 7th] were civilians. They negotiated with Hamas to sell me. When they were paid, Hamas took me straight into a tunnel.”

Nili Margalit, 42-year-old Israeli nurse who was released from captivity last year, speaking yesterday.

Of course, we already know from videos of them pouring into the border kibbutzim that Palestinian “civilians” in Gaza were heavily involved in the October 7th massacres. The degree of that involvement continues to be revealed.

Last week, we had reports from the interrogations of the terrorists that not only were bodies taken back to Gaza, but also “limbs and organs” were cut off Israelis, taken back to Gaza, and sold.

Speaking of Hostages

Israel made another concession yesterday which HamISIS rejected.

Now Israel is ready to allow 150,000 Gazans to return to northern Gaza without being checked in return for nothing more than a list of 40 living hostages.

The increasingly speculation is that there may never have been 40 more living hostages after the hostage releases last year.

IDF soldiers on the ground in Gaza and in the north have indicated that they urgently need more basic supplies and armaments.

The IDF ombudsman reported last month that there has been a 265% increase in the number of incidents in which soldiers are short of combat equipment and basic protective gear.

Here at OneIsrael we are engaged in another campaign for our soldiers. This campaign will extend through Passover and to Shavuot.

Please consider donating to our campaign by clicking on the donate button in the right hand column on this page. All donations go directly to our soldiers.

On the Ground in Gaza

*Of course, the big news of yesterday was the targeted assassination of HamISIS leaders Amir, Hazam, and Mohammed Haniyeh–three sons of HamISIS political leader Ismail Haniyeh.

The Haniyehs (along with 3 of their children) were killed when a missile incinerated their car.

As you know, billionaire Ismail Haniyeh lives in Qatar–and just married his 7th wife two weeks ago. After the deaths of his three sons yesterday, he now has 10 children. His reaction to the deaths yesterday (as recorded on video) was a smiling “Thank you to Allah for the honor of providing martyrs from my family.”

Not surprisingly, the Israeli left is roundly condemning the attack yesterday claiming that it might torpedo the hostage “negotiations.” Of course, it is hard to torpedo “negotiations” that seem to be going nowhere.

By the way, everyone (Netanyahu, Gallant, Gantz, even IDF Chief Halevi) is claiming that they were not informed in advance of the attack.

*The IDF may have withdrawn most of our ground forces from Gaza, but the attacks from the air and artillery continue. Some of the reports from yesterday:

–Nuseirat terrorists were targeted in 2 attacks in central Gaza.

–HamISIS terrorists were killed in an attack in Zeitun.

–Another HamISIS terror group was spotted and eliminated in the Wadi Gaza area.

War Cabinet member Benny Gantz proclaimed yesterday that it is only a matter of time until the IDF enters Rafah and returns to Khan Younis.

*A Jordanian emissary in Gaza yesterday expressed shock at the food situation in Gaza: “There is more food in Gaza than in Jordan.”

The News from Iran

The Iranians continue to threaten an impending attack on Israel. The closure of the Tehran airport this morning has led to speculation that such an attack is imminent.

The Walid Daka Insanity

IDF soldier Moshe Tamam, who was murdered in 1984 (YouTube screenshot)

Moshe Tamm’s eyes still stare out at us after all these years. On August 6, 1984 on the eve of Tisha B’Av, 19-year-old IDF soldier Tamm was kidnapped as he got off a bus near his home in Netanya.

Four days later, he was found dead, shot in the chest–and brutally mutilated in the face.

Eventually, a 4-man cell of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine was tracked down and confessed to the murder. The four members were sentenced to life in prison. The leader of the group was Walid Daka.

In the succeeding years, Daka became an international celebrity. At Israeli taxpayer expense, he received an MA in law and became. He became the first Palestinian prisoner ever to marry while in prison, and even fathered a child in 2020 (via his sperm being smuggled out of prison). Over time he became the most senior Palestinian prisoner.

He “authored” several books and even had a play extoling his life which was performed at a theater in Haifa.

In recent years, Daka was diagnosed with cancer and campaigned repeatedly for a “humanitarian release.” It was never granted, and he died in prison three days ago.

The Israeli left has sickeningly been singing his praises ever since.

Israeli actress and director Einat Weizman:

“He taught me what humanitarian thought is. The world is darker without him. The light diminishes.”

Don’t you feel like you want to throw up?

Anat Matar, senior lecturer in Tel Aviv University’s Department of Philosophy:

“I will write more about Walid Deka, the intellectual, the friend, the noble of the soul, in more detail, when I manage to find words.”

Just plain nauseating.

To top all of this off, a mourning tent was set up at Daka’s former home in Baka Al Gharbiyye yesterday (even though his body is yet to be released). While the “mourners” were chanting phrases calling for the killing of more IDF soldiers, police arrived, tore down the tent and arrested 5.

They were released by a judge this morning who chastised the police for not being “more sensitive.”

Not surprisingly, Amnesty International issued this abominable statement yesterday: “The State of Israel cruelly denied the right to life to Walid Daka, the writer who opposed the Israeli occupation.”

One last word. Daka and his fellow terrorists should have been executed decades ago after they were found guilty.

In Non-War News

*According to a report in Israel’s YNET news, Israel will remove its opposition to Indonesia joining the OECD in exchange for normalizing relations with the world’s largest Muslim country.

If this report is correct, it is pleasantly unbelievable.

*Labor Minister Yoav Ben Zur announced yesterday after  a meeting with India’s Ambassador to Israel Sanjiv Singla that 10,000 Indian workers will land in Israel in June to work in the agricultural and construction sectors.

This is indeed good news as it means fewer Palestinians working here.

More Positive News To End This Update

A week ago today, the IDF held its annual event celebrating the bar and bat mitzvahs of IDF orphans at the Kotel (Western Wall) in Jerusalem. A joyous event, it is always tinged with sadness at the missing fathers and in some cases mothers who would have been at their sides of their sons and daughters:

At the Wall last Thursday.
