Some Obscene Scenes from the Protests in Jerusalem Last Night

Once again, a protest calling attention to the hostages was taken over by torch burning anarchists last night who hurled burning torches at the police and broke through police barricades to reach PM Netanyahu’s home in Jerusalem:

The moment at which the mob broke through the police barricade (barely visible on the right).

The moment at which the mob broke through the police barricade (barely visible on the right).

Once through the barricade, the mob made a mad dash down the street:

It was like a scene from the 1930s movie "Frankenstein" where torch-carrying villagers charged toward the castle of Dr. Frankenstein.

It was like a surreal scene from the 1930s movie “Frankenstein” where torch-carrying villagers charged toward the castle of Dr. Frankenstein.

The entire incident was sickening to see. Whatever unity we had after October 7th is being extinguished by anti-Netanyahu, anti-government leftists.

Even the normally abominable Benny Gantz was appalled and issued this statement:

“The strength of the IDF and the spirit of the fighters are a significant part of our ability to win the war – but the unity of the people is the key to our future. We must not accept violence from any side, we must not accept ignoring police instructions and breaking barriers as we saw last night in Jerusalem. A protest is legitimate, the pain is also understandable, but the law and the rules of the game must be respected. We are brothers, one nation, in one of its most difficult moments – we must not go back to October 6th.”

UPDATE 10:00 AM

On the Ground in Gaza

IDF forces are now working intensively at Al-Nasser “Hospital” which is another HamISIS command and control center.

The IDF Spokesman this morning:

“IDF troops are continuing to operate in Al-Amal and the area of Khan Yunis, locating weapons and terrorist infrastructure in Gaza. In the area of Khan Yunis, IDF troops located numerous weapons. During the activity, IAF and engineering forces struck terrorist infrastructure and weapons storage facilities.

In Al-Amal, IDF troops killed and apprehended a number of terrorists, and an IAF aircraft also struck and eliminated a terrorist. During a targeted raid in the area, IDF troops located numerous weapons, including weapon parts, explosive devices, and grenades. Furthermore, in Al-Amal, IDF troops in a close-quarters encounter eliminated a terrorist cell with tank and close-range fire.

Over the past day, IDF fighter jets struck a number of compounds rigged with explosives and terror tunnels. In addition, IAF aircraft struck dozens of terrorist infrastructure, including weapons storage facilities, launch posts, and military compounds.”

In short, fighting continues throughout Gaza, and everything seems prepared for a broad attack on Rafah–which almost certainly will not come until after Ramadan.

At 5:20 am this morning, Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired Qassam rockets at Kissufim.

On the Ground in the North

More than 30 missiles were fired out of Lebanon yesterday at the western Galilee. No Israelis were physically wounded.

The IDF Spokesman late yesterday afternoon:

“An IAF aircraft struck the terrorist cell in the area of Wadi Hamoul that fired launches toward the Western Galilee area.

Throughout the day, IDF artillery struck to remove threats in a number of areas, including Rmeish and Maisat.”

Thus far today, Hezbollah missiles have targeted:  (8:03 am) Even Menachem, Zarit, Netua, Fassuta, Shomera, and Shtula; (10:00 am) Alkosh, Matat, Netua, Fassuta, and Hurfeish.

On the Ground in Judea and Samaria

4 Israel Police officers were run over in a “bulldozer” attack near Kochav Yair. The hospital report a few hours ago: 1 officer is in critical condition with head and limb wounds, the other three are in moderate condition.

After the the terrorist ran over the police, he continued to a checkpoint near Alfi Menashe. Once there, he got out of the car and charged security officers with a knife.

He was shot and killed.

Who was the terrorist? Another Israeli-Arab who self-identified as a Palestinian–a 26-year-old man from Tira (close to Kfar Saba).

A Further Update on the Deaths of the WCK Aid Workers

Israel has taken responsibility for the deaths of the World Central Kitchen Aid Workers.

IDF Chief of Staff Halevi issued this statement:

“I want to be very clear—the strike was not carried out with the intention of harming WCK aid workers. It was a mistake that followed a misidentification—at night during a war in very complex conditions. It shouldn’t have happened.”

The unfortunate reality is that mistakes like this happen during war–especially a war being fought in extraordinarily dense urban locations. As we have previously noted, some 20 IDF soldiers have been killed by friendly fire, including one soldier in the recent battle at Shifa “Hospital”.
