MADA Should Tell The International Red Cross To Peddle Its Anti-Semitism Elsewhere

UPDATES 9 am Friday, July 5 2013:

*A short summary of Palestinian terrorism in the last 24 hours:

Palestinian terrorists wounded a three year girl in the head with a “rock” thrown near the Dung Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem; Palestinian terrorists threw IEDs and “rocks” at Israelis worshiping at Rachel’s Tomb; Palestinian terrorists threw a Molotov cocktail at the Gush Etzion Police Force; Palestinian terrorists fired at Israeli naval vessels off of the Gaza coast; Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” and Molotov cocktails at Border Police on the Gush Etzion–Hebron Road; Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” from an illegal Palestinian settlement near Beth El–an Israeli policeman was wounded; Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” at Israeli motorists near Azzun; Palestinian terrorists attacked cars at a junction on Mt. Hebron.

*By all accounts, there has been a sharp escalation in fighting between Egyptian forces in the Sinai and Islamic/Hamas factions. This morning, Islamists have staged hit and run attacks at numerous military outposts–and at such public venues as the Al-Arish airport. In particular, an Egyptian military position at the Rafah Crossing was struck by an RPG early this morning and one Egyptian soldier was killed.

At the same time, the Egyptians have ramped up a campaign against the Hamas smuggling tunnels which run from Gaza into Egypt. According to Hamas reports, “tens of tunnels” have been destroyed or simply flooded with sewage.

*In the meantime, two rockets were apparently fired out of the Sinai last night at Eilat.

TODAY’S BLOG:

One of the MADA ambulances seen all over Israel everyday.

One of the MADA ambulances seen all over Israel everyday.

Think back for a moment to the updates section above which describes the Palestinian terrorism that has been directed at Israeli Jews in the last 24 hours.

Whom do you think was called upon to treat the three year old girl with the “rock” wound to the head in the eastern part of Jerusalem yesterday?

Whom do you think was called upon to treat the Border policeman hit by “rocks” near Beth El?

Whom do you think was called upon to treat those suffering from emotional trauma at Rachel’s Tomb, on the Gush Etzion–Hebron Road, and near Azzun?

Whom do you think was called upon yesterday to treat the daily events of life of Israeli Jews–births, accidents, health crises and a myriad of other events–in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.
After all, why not? If you take your girl to a club she will be approached by men and she will feel more comfortable around you. cialis generika 5mg Doctors do not recommend using this medication in excess to find the more time effect as this may result in to severe cipla tadalafil 20mg health risks. Therefore whenever you go to sleep use a humidifier to prevent your cheap price viagra mouth getting dried. 6. Moreover, there are several medical conditions under which low cost levitra one cannot take these medicines and needs to operate his daily routine according to the physician’s instruction.

If you said the International Red Cross (ICRC) or the Palestinian Red Crescent Society you would be wrong.

If you said Magen David Adom (MADA)–Israel’s unsurpassed paramedic and emergency medical organization–you would be correct.

It is in this context that we had the outrageously egregious comments in Jerusalem yesterday of ICRC president Peter Maurer. Speaking to reporters, Maurer castigated MADA for not complying with a 2005 memorandum of understanding which, according to the ICRC, called upon MADA to stop operating ambulances emblemed with a Star of David in Judea, Samaria, and the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem.

The content of this memorandum was discussed thoroughly in a previous israelstreet blog “Groveling for Money: The Humiliation of MADA”. In that blog, your humble servant discussed the blatantly anti-Semitic history of the ICRC, and took MADA to task for kowtowing to the ICRC demand in the 2005 Memorandum that the Star of David be removed from all of its ambulances operated by the government of Israel in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem. However, at that time, MADA at least declared that the Star of David would remain on its vehicles which are subsidized by local Jewish communities and cities in Judea and Samaria.

According to the flatulent Maurer in Jerusalem yesterday, all of MADA’s ambulances need to have the Star of David removed immediately, or MADA risks condemnation at the 19th General Assembly of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent that will take place in Australia in November. He even suggested that MADA might lose its affiliation with the organization on the advice of an ICRC monitor of the situation “in Palestine”.

Are you following all of this? In order for MADA to remain in the good graces of the ICRC, it must remove any Jewish religious designation from its vehicles–even ones privately funded–while every Palestinian ambulance operating in Judea and Samaria is emblazoned with the Red Crescent of Islam.

By the way, Maurer did not hesitate to also weigh in on political matters as well–accusing Israel of 47 years of “occupation” of the “West Bank” and Gaza.

In your humble servant’s opinion, MADA’s agreement with the ICRC was a scandal to begin with. The time has come to tell Mr. Maurer and the ICRC to go peddle their nauseating anti-Semitism elsewhere.
