**The last two weeks have seen elections taking place across Judea and Samaria at Palestinian universities. Inasmuch as the PLO will not agree to any elections for the Palestinian government, the university elections are seen as a bellwether on what would happen if a governmental election took place.

And the news is not good for the PLO (aka the Palestinian Authority of Mahmoud Abbas.

In the most recent election at the Polytechnic College of Hebron, the vote was 15 for the PLO, 15 for Hamas, and 1 for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Last week, at Bir Zeit University just north of Ramallah, Hamas students won 26 seats and the PLO 19.

Given the intense suppression of Hamas by the PLO, both votes can be seen as a victory for Hamas–which would almost surely trounce the PLO in any sort of election for territory-wide office.

**It has now been 5 days since the Maersk Tigris was hijacked in international waters in the Strait of Hormuz. Amazingly, the boat and its crew still being held in Bandar Abbas, Iran awaiting the payment of ransom money by the Maersk shipping company to get it released.

The entire episode is no different at all from those hijackings carried out by Somali pirates off the coast of eastern Africa.

And yet, the Obama Administration has yet to even issue a condemnation for what the Iranians did–despite American obligations spelled out in an agreement with the Marshall Islands (the country of residence of the Maersk Tigris).

Instead John Kerry carries on with his talks with Iranian FM Zarif on an almost daily basis–completely oblivious to Iranian terrorism.
