The 2019 Bloomberg Innovation Index has just been published and Israel has moved 5 places higher on the list of most innovative countries:

Of particular note are the facts that Israel is number 1 in the world in terms of Research and Development Intensity and number 2 in the world in regard to concentration of researchers (number of researchers per capita).

While Israel pursues innovation, Iran spends its money on . . .

TODAY’S BLOG

A Night and Day of Extreme Violence

It has been a day of extreme violence throughout Judea, Samaria and along the Gaza Border.

In Judea and Samaria:

At about 8:30 pm last night, a Palestinian came to the Shomron Junction south of Shechem. When IDF officers from the Nachshon Battalion asked him to turn around, he pulled out the above knife, charged them, and stabbed one soldier in the chest.

Fortunately, the soldier was wearing a ceramic vest that blunted the blow–and saved his life.

Another soldier standing nearby shot and killed the terrorist.

*A stabbing was narrowly thwarted at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hevron when alert Border Guards spotted the terrorist acting suspiciously.

*Palestinian terrorists attacked numerous cars along the Gush Etzion-Jerusalem Road near Hadar with Molotovs.

*Palestinian terrorists attacked a school bus near Havat Gilad with “rocks,” shattering windows. Numerous schoolchildren were treated for trauma.

*Palestinian terrorists assaulted Israeli motorists with “rocks” at Al Aruv, Beit El, Gush Talmonim, and other places.

On the Gaza Border:

In the second of two shooting attacks today, a Palestinian terrorist shot an IDF soldier in the head. Fortunately, his helmet (in photo above) saved his life but did not completely stop the bullet.

The soldier was evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Beersheva where he is in fair condition.

In response to the shooting attacks, an IDF tank “attacked” a Hamas “observation post” in nearby sand dunes. In other words, the IDF did nothing except hit an empty structure. No terrorists were killed or wounded.

Later, five more terrorists attempted to infiltrate into Israel; two were successful. After crossing into Israel, they returned to Gaza.

What is the overall government response to all of this terror?

The Netanyahu government has pathetically decided to proceed with the $15 million dollar blackmail payment to Hamas.
