“IDF Ranks”: Defend Israel By Becoming The Ultimate Virtual Soldier

SPECIAL NOTICE:

To all of you in the United States, happy 4th of July! It was 236 years ago that we Americans began our fight for freedom with the signing of our Declaration of Independence. We will be celebrating American independence at sundown today here in Ashdod with our 23rd annual beach party–complete with hot dogs, kebabs, salads (especially potato), humus, pita, marshmallows, and much more. All are invited!

On a heroic and somber note, we Israelis remember that it was 36 years ago today, July 4, 1976, that Israeli commandos stormed the Entebbe airport and rescued 102 Israeli hostages. Five Israeli soldiers were wounded and the commander of the operation on the ground, Lt. Col. Yonatan Netanyahu, was killed.

The fight for freedom never comes without cost, and we remember today all who have fought for and have given their lives in its defense.

UPDATE 9:00 am Israel time:

Hundreds demonstrated in Ramallah last night marching from Manara Square to Mahmoud Abbas’ office in the Muqata denouncing Israel and calling for an end to negotiations. Of course, the Palestinians are not negotiating with Israel and never have been (all “negotiations” consist of nothing but Israeli concessions).

The current problem in the PLO/Palestinian Authority is bankruptcy, again–with no money to pay any government workers (Israel, unbelievably, tried to get a $100 million loan for the PLO through the IMF last month but was turned down on the basis that loans are only made to “countries”). The actual problem is that the PLO/PA is so corrupt that even foreign donor money has dried up.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Here’s your chance to be in the Israel Defense Forces and to fight for the future of the Jewish state.

If you cannot come to Israel and fight physically for Israel, you can spread the word about what the IDF does–and in the process earn promotions in the IDF that can raise your rank from “Private” all the way to “Lt. General”.

From the IDF Spokesman’s Office:

“Have you ever wanted to join the military and fight to defend Israel? Well, now you can, with IDF Ranks — embedded directly in all IDF social platforms!

IDF Ranks promotes YOU for your activities around IDF-related material. Your every action — commenting, liking, sharing and even just visiting — rewards your efforts, as well as helps spread the truth about the Israeli army all over the world.”

All you have to do to earn points and promotions is to go the IDF’s active blog which is filled with articles about Israel and share them with friends. Click on this link to get started: http://www.idfblog.com/2012/07/02/idf-ranks-become-the-ultimate-virtual-soldier/

What have you done for Israel today?
