The Golan Heights Trivia Quiz (Part 1)

UPDATE 7 am Israel time Sunday:

Multiple IAF strikes on Gaza early last evening resulted in the killing of two Global Jihad terrorists who had been involved in rocket attacks against southern Israelis. Sirens for incoming rockets from Gaza sounded throughout the night in communities along the Gazan border–most notably between 3:00 am and 4:00 am. All of southern Israel is at the highest alert level.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The Golan Heights. Note its strategic location and height differentials. Can you even begin to imagine the situation Israel would be in if the Syrian border was at the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee)?

For the last two days, your humble servant has been trying to think of the right word to describe the apparent attempt in 2010 of Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak to give away the Israeli Golan Heights to Syria in return for the “expectation” that Syria would sever its relations with Hezbollah and Iran.

Idiotic, moronic, absurd, brainless, dim-witted, cretinous, stupid–none of them seem to fit because none of them reach the level of egregious imbecility that would be required merely to come up with the idea of  such an arrangement much less than actually engaging in the process of giving the Golan away.

Thankfully the Syrian revolution broke out with Hezbollah and Iran rushing to the defense of the Assad’s Syrian regime thereby at least temporarily foiling the malicious scheme of Netanyahu and Barak.

Today, I thought we would take a Golan Heights quiz to test your knowledge of this incredibly important region of Israeli real estate. The answers to the test will be given in tomorrow’s blog.  Here we go and good luck!
