Europe: No Continent For Jews or Israelis

UPDATES

The daily Palestinian terrorist report from yesterday . . .

Riots took place throughout eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria specifically at Beit Jala, Beit El, the Chain Gate in the Old City, Issawiya, and in Beit Ummar. Soldiers and police were attacked with “rocks” and other projectiles.

Israeli motorists were attacked by Palestinian terrorists throwing Molotov cocktails at Talmon.

Caches of Palestinian weapons and ammunition were seized in Beit Ummar, Yatta, and Hebron.

Another (the second in five days) Hamas terrorist (aka naval commando) drowned during a training exercise just off the Gaza coast at Beit Lahiya.

A Palestinian terrorist from Gaza affiliated with IS was captured at the Israeli border. He was disguised as a teacher on his way to Qatar.

**Meanwhile the PLO propaganda machine keeps churning out “threats” . . .

So far this week, we have Mahmoud Abbas threatening to resign twice, and the Palestinians saying this morning that they are going to abrogate the Oslo Accords.

And it is only Monday morning.

Of course, as we all know, Abbas has threatened to resign more than 15 times during the course of the last few years (he thrives on being begged not to), and, unfortunately, no one will be abrogating Oslo any time soon. Oslo is what keeps Abbas alive–without Israeli security forces arresting Hamas operatives in Judea and Samaria everyday, Abbas would have long ago been kicked out or assassinated.

**Another border protection fence starts to go up . . .

As previously reported on israelstreet, a border fence along the Jordanian border is now the focus of Israeli border protection. Yesterday, less than a week after approval by the cabinet, construction began on a 30 kilometer section from Eilat north to Timna.

This 30 km section is going to cost about 300 million shekels–10 million shekels a kilometer. Though it is a good start, this will still leave more than 200 kilometers of unfenced border. Eventually that is scheduled to be completed at a cost of about $3 billion shekels.

On September 6, yesterday, hundreds of British protesters came to Cardiff, Wales in advance of the Israel-Wales soccer game. Their message was simple: Israel, the only Jewish country in the world, should be thrown out of UEFA and FIFA.  On Thursday, the Cardiff City Council ordered that an exhibition entitled “Jewish and Arab Football: Diversity and Coexistence” be dismantled.

On September 6, yesterday, it was reported an elderly Jewish couple in Amsterdam who are Holocaust survivors of Auschwitz, were brutally beaten and robbed by attackers who called them “dirty Jews”. The Amsterdam police said yesterday that they cannot understand the motive for the attack.  The couple are now in a rehabilitation center confined to wheelchairs: the attack left Shmuel (87) nearly blind in one eye and Diana (86) with a broken thigh. Incidentally, Diana was already badly scarred from being attacked by guard dogs in Auschwitz.

On September 5, a Maltese official named Stefan Grech working in Belgium was accused of physically and verbally attacking a co-worker, calling her a “dirty Jewess” and saying that “Hitler should have killed all the Jews.” Incidentally, the victim of the attack is not Jewish.  As of this morning, Grech has resigned his post.

On August 28, in the Spanish city of Bilbao, a 17-year-old Jewish teenager was beaten and his attackers carved a swastika and the numerals 88 (Heil Hitler) into his arm.

On August 12, a Norwegian film festival refused to show a short Israeli documentary film “The Other Dreamers” about the lives of disabled children in Israel. The reason?  In a letter to the film’s director, the festival organizers said: “We support the academic and cultural boycott of Israel, so unless the films are about the illegal occupation, or deal with the occupation or the blockade of Gaza, or otherwise about the discrimination of Palestinians, we can’t show them.”

So you make the call, dear reader. What is the connection between all of these “events”?
