The News on the Israel Street Today
Palestinian terror never stops . . .
Today:
There has been another attempted stabbing attack, this one at Shomron Square. A Palestinian terrorist tried to kill a Golani soldier, but was stopped by a bullet in the chest. The soldier was unwounded; the terrorist was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in critical condition.
Yesterday:
Another rash of attacks occurred yesterday resulting in wounded IDF soldiers and civilians.
*Two soldiers were wounded by “rocks” at the T-Junction in Gush Etzion.
*An Israeli was wounded by “rocks” while driving near Jaba.
*An Israeli was wounded again today at Deir Nizam.
In addition, there were “rock” and Molotov assaults by Palestinian terrorists at such places as Neot Hovav, the Tekoa Junction, on the Husan Bypass Road, Beit El, on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road, at the Azzun Junction, at al-Fawwar, in Hevron (at Beit Hadassah and Beit Romano), on Route 443 near Beit Horon, and in Issawiya.
The above information is gleaned from on-the-ground reports as recorded at rotter.net and hakolheyudi.co.il.
The Egyptians cut off electricity to Gaza . . .
Egypt has now cut off the rudimentary amount of electricity it was supplying to Gaza. As of this morning, Gazans will now be receiving 4 hours of electricity per day. As a result, Gaza’s waste treatment plants have completely shut down and raw sewage is pouring into the Mediterranean at unprecedented levels. This sewage is polluting not only the Gaza coast but also the Egyptian coast to the south and the Israeli coast to the north.
Basically, Hamas is taking all fuel and electricity for itself–and charging exorbitant taxes on what is supplied to other Gazans. Neither Hamas nor the PLO seems to give one whit about keeping the Gaza power or sewage plants operating, preferring to wait instead for the infusion of “humanitarian cash” from Turkey or Qatar or some other country.
Some extremely good news . . .
Americans for Peace Now has canceled its annual “Educational Trip to Israel.”
This so-called “educational trip” has taken place for 30 straight years.
30 straight years of bringing American Jews and Christians to Israel so that they can be propagandized about “the evil Israel.” 30 straight years of feeding false information to American Jews and Christians that does nothing except support the Palestinian canard. 30 straight years of “educating” leftist American Jews and Christians so that they can return to the U.S. and work to demean and delegitimize Israel.
Part of this delegitimization in recent years has been the support of the BDS boycott against Israel.
So why was this year’s trip canceled?
Because of the new Knesset law which denies entry into Israel of foreign citizens who advocate a boycott of Israel. Americans for Peace Now expressed the fear that its group would be detained at Ben Gurion Airport and returned to the U.S.

Then if you can believe this, the leadership of Americans for Peace Now had the gall to add: “We do not know if another date will be set for this trip for this year, or if we will be forced to stop the ‘Study Trip to Israel’ program until further notice, until the law is annulled or amended.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! As if the Knesset is going to repeal the law so that the likes of Americans for Peace Now can enter the country.
Your humble servant can only smile and say “good riddance.” Americans for Peace Now is an abominable organization that should have never been allowed into Israel in the first place.

The Sorry Tale of German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel
Sigmar Gabriel is the news on the streets of Israel today because PM Netanyahu issued Gabriel an ultimatum: either cancel your proposed meetings with the hideous Breaking the Silence and B’Tselem groups or you will not meet with me.
Gabriel chose to meet with Breaking the Silence and B’Tselem.
But I am getting a little ahead of myself because the sorry personal story of Sigmar Gabriel is instructive.
Gabriel’s father, Walter Gabriel, was a fanatic Nazi, and even Gabriel has said that he was a fanatic Nazi “until his dying breath” in 2012 at age 91.
Sigmar Gabriel’s oldest child, Saskia, was a result of his relationship with a Jewish girlfriend whose grandparents were murdered by the Nazis in Auschwitz. After that relationship ended, Gabriel married a German woman of Turkish origin who happened to be a Muslim.
In the midst of these relationships, Gabriel became a rising star in the Social Democratic Party (SPD).
In various capacities, he made various pronouncements about Israel over the years such as this one on March 15, 2012 while he was in Israel:
“I was just in Hebron. That is a lawless territory there for Palestinians. Israel is an apartheid regime, for which there is no justification.”
In this context it comes as no surprise to find out that immediately after the Obama inspired Nuclear Weapons Appeasement Agreement was signed with Iran back in 2015, Sigmar Gabriel was the first Western official to rush to Tehran to embrace the Iranians.
You get the idea.
And so, Gabriel chose to demean Israel again today. No surprise.
And no surprise that Israel’s lefties rushed to condemn Netanyahu for refusing to meet with him. For his part, the leader of the Israeli opposition, Yitzhak Herzog ranted that: “Netanyahu is harming Israel’s foreign relations with the largest economy in Europe and a true friend of Israel.”
Unbelievably, both Herzog and Israel President Reuven Rivlin are meeting with Gabriel tomorrow.
And so it goes in Israel today . . .
