The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
In Judea and Samaria:
Palestinian terrorists attempted to kill Israelis with Molotovs and “rocks” on Road 465 near Abud, between Hizma and Adam, at Gilead Farm, Yitzhar, Psagot, Muhammad, Al-Fawwar, the Halhul Bridge, Mt. Gilo, Anatim, Tapuach, the Jit Junction, Migdalot, Road 443 near the Dor gasoline station, Ramat Gilad, and Ofra, among other places.
On the Gaza border:
Thousands of terrorists assaulted our troops with IEDs, grenades, and Molotovs as they attacked the border fence.
At the same time, hundreds of explosive balloons were launched from Gaza into southern Israel:
No polls on OneIsrael for the time being . . .
Here on OneIsrael, we will not be publishing any polls that are already being pumped out by the bushel by the left-wing Israeli media and their cohorts in the polling business.
Every poll in the last few days supposedly shows this: Kahol Lavan would increase its number of seats in a new election; Likud’s number of seats would decrease; and the right would be better off with Gideon Sa’ar heading Likud. In short, there is a concerted effort to throw PM Netanyahu under the bus.
It all smacks of biased polling, and we will not be party to it.
At OneIsrael, your humble servant has already expressed his opinion that it would be better now for either: PM Netanyahu to temporarily step down as head of Likud for the coming election, or for PM Netanyahu to pick a running mate (like Sa’ar or former Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat) to take over in the event legal proceedings overtake him.
In mid-February, we will revisit the “poll situation” and reevaluate whether to report them at that time or not.
TODAY’S BLOG:
The Brazen Ongoing European Union Attack Against Israel
The European Union and Germany signed financial agreements with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (aka UNRWA) yesterday to provide an additional € 86 million Euros to the abominable organization.
To add insult to injury, the signing took place at a UNRWA run school in Silwan, a neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Where will all of this money go?
Where it always goes: to fund anti-Israel incitement in UNRWA operated schools and to perpetuate Palestinian victimhood to another generation of “poor Palestinians.” Germany alone is funding four new projects which target Israelis.
In an accompanying statement, UNRWA expressed “deep appreciation for the generosity of the European Union and its member states, including Germany and others here today, support and investment in Palestinian refugee create opportunities to enable them to realize their full potential. The EU and its Member States are proud to remain the largest providers of international assistance to refugees from Palestine For over four decades, the EU has established itself as a key strategic partner to the Agency, supporting UNRWA and its role.”
Four decades of instilling hatred against Israelis–hatred which manifests itself in continuous terror attacks against Israeli men, women, and children. Four decades which have pushed the prospect of peace ever farther away.
But the Europeans just don’t care.

Germany even issued this ludicrous statement: “UNRWA is one of Germany’s most important partners in the Middle East as a regional stability factor in an unstable environment. UNRWA offers perspective and respect to millions of people. Despite all the challenges, it is of the utmost importance that the organization is able to sustain operations and maintain open schools. Germany will remain a reliable supporter. “
One of Germany’s most important partners? UNRWA offers respect to millions of people?
Unbelievable.
The signing came on the heels of the UN decision on Friday to extend the UNRWA mandate by another three years to 2023. Undoubtedly, it will continue to vote to mandate UNRWA for generations to come as a means of attacking Israel.
If all this wasn’t bad enough, it also came to light yesterday that the EU is once again brazenly funding the construction of infrastructure for Palestinians living in Area C.
The PLO, Denmark, and the EU inaugurated buildings in Al-Masra and Ma’aleh.
The cost?
The EU donated € 310,000 Euros and Denmark another € 215,000.
The sheer brazenness of the move was underscored by this statement from Simon Patron of the EU: “The EU will continue to support economic development projects and improve the quality of life of Palestinian communities in Area C in areas such as the private sector, environment and agriculture, [all of which are] development interventions in region C.”
Patron topped off his declaration with this: “The EU is working jointly with the Palestinian Authority to develop Area C and support Palestinian communities.”
What the EU is doing is establishing facts on the ground–in an area C that is supposed to be under the complete authority of Israel. More specifically, the EU is trying to encourage population transfer by making Area C more amenable to Palestinians now living in Areas A and B.
What the EU is doing is patently illegal–as was pointed out just a few days ago by Defense Minister Naftali Bennett who told EU ambassadors that “illegal construction in their financing would be demolished by Israel.”
The question is whether Bennett and the Israeli government will actually act to demolish these buildings and counteract the EU threat, or are Bennett and others all talk and no action.
