Quote of the Day:

“BDS is anti-Semitic and should be treated as such. Anti-Semitism is an attack on the British way of life and British identity. Without our Jewish citizens we would be a lesser nation.”

Eric Pickles, chairman of the Friends of Conservative Israel, and UK Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust issues speaking last night in Jerusalem.

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Al Aruv, Abud, Yitzhar, Adam, Hizma, Road 443, Mt. Hevron, Tekoa, Road 465 near Nabi Salah, the Olive Junction, along the Trans Judea Highway, and at Luban A-Sharqiya near Ramallah were all places where Palestinian terrorists assaulted Israelis with Molotovs and “rocks” yesterday.

News along the Gaza border . . .

Doesn’t it always happen? Once again, scarcely a month after the intense missiles barrages that hit southern Israel, the Israel Health Ministry has cut off funds for children being treated for emotional trauma.

Now if these kids were in Tel Aviv, it would be a different story.

The Rimmel family saga continues. . .

Ephraim Rimmel, the father who was critically wounded in the terror attack in which his wife and 3 week old daughter were murdered by a Palestinian who rammed into their car, awoke yesterday after two weeks in a coma. His son remains in one.

Meanwhile, police have discovered that the terrorist was driving at 170 km per hour when he rammed his car into the Rimmel car.

Turn out the lights . . .

Once again for the umpteenth time, the PLO is refusing to pay its electricity bill.

And why should they?

They are always bailed out by the rich Gulf Arabs, or by the European Union, or by Israel itself.

In any case, the “poor infantile Palestinians” will now only have electricity for 21 hours a day.

Interesting immigration numbers . . .

According to statistics released yesterday:

* 3.3 million people have immigrated to Israel since 1948.

*40% of that 3.3. million immigrated in the 1990s.

*In 2018, 28,100 new immigrants arrived in Israel.

*In the first 10 months of 2019, 27,300 immigrants arrived–a 20% increase over the same period in 2018.

TODAY’S BLOG

The Least We Can Do

The Israel Defense Forces this week released statistics which show that there are currently 57,277 disabled soldiers alive in Israel who fought in Israel’s wars for survival. 5000 of these are suffering from PTSD.

817 IDF soldiers are disabled as a result of the Gaza war in 2014. 516 of these have a disability listed as “more than 20%.” 588 of them have PTSD.

Because of a government decision 5 years ago, the IDF now sets aside a time period to recognize the disabled and their contribution and sacrifice.

This week and next, the IDF Rehabilitation Division will have numerous events for disabled soldiers, and active duty soldiers will visit those who are disabled.

It is the least we can do for those who have given so much.
