A follow-up to the missile attack Thursday night: despite tens of thousands of residents of the Ashdod-Ashkelon-Zikim reporting multiple missile impact explosions, the IDF spokesman insists that it was all “a false alarm”. As the spokesman always does—after all, heaven forbid that the IDF respond meaningfully to an attack by Hamas or Islamic Jihad.

Israel continues on its knees to Jordan . . .
Our pusillanimous government announced today that 700 more Jordanian workers will be allowed into Eilat to work in the hotels there.
At the same time, the government rushed to announced that all Jordanian diplomatic personnel will be allowed into Israel via the Allenby Crossing.
Both of these steps were part of a profuse apology to the Jordanians for denying Crown Prince Abdullah entry into Israel the other day so that he could pray at the Al-Aksa Mosque. Of course, the real purpose of Abdullah’s visit was solidify Jordanian control over the Temple Mount in the face of perceived competition from Saudi Arabia and the UAE–a solidification that the Netanyahu government incredibly turns a blind eye to.

Another Dangerous Partnership
Speaking of UAE pretensions to the Temple Mount . . .
Part of those pretensions are coming from the investments that the UAE is making in Israel.
Just today, Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) announced a partnership with the UAE to the tune of a $10 billion dollar investment in the company.
Specifically IAI will be partnering with the UAE company EDGE to develop an anti-drone and anti-aircraft systems. According to the announcement, 3D radar and electro-optical technologies will be integrated into a uniform control and monitoring system.
In case you were unaware of it, IAI already partners with the Belgian company Advanced Technology Systems to produce various air warfare “solutions.”
Pardon your humble servant from stating the obvious, but don’t you think it is dangerous for IAI to be sharing information and development with companies in Belgium and the UAE?
Especially the UAE.
After all, up until about six months ago, the UAE was still considered an enemy of Israel, and the normalization process which began only about four months ago has had more than a few bumps in the road.
Are we really ready to allow Israeli companies to sell the UAE secrets?
