Going down to the wire . . .

Your humble servant has studiously avoided getting into the weeds of the March 23 election.

Suffice it to say that everyone running for office is accusing everyone else of everything under the sun.

There are at least 3 or 4 polls per day showing varying numbers of possible seats for each political party.  Without putting too much credence in the polls, they remain fairly consistent in suggesting that Netanyahu’s Likud Party will probably receive between 27-29 seats, while second place Yesh Atid of Yair Lapid will pick up between 17-20 seats.

The bottom line which fluctuates hourly shows that no one can tell whether the anti-Netanyahu parties will be able to garner 61 seats.

OneIsrael will begin showing poll results next week.

Today’s Blog:

Netanyahu’s UAE Fiasco

You have to laugh.

The on-again, off-again, on-again electioneering trip that PM Netanyahu was to take to the U.A.E. is off againpermanently canceled for the foreseeable future.

Why?

Ostensibly because the Jordanians would not permit Netanyahu’s plane to fly in Jordanian airspace.

To hear the baloney coming from the Jordanians, the problem is that the Israelis were going to violate the time schedule that had been worked out.

However, if you read yesterday’s OneIsrael blog, you may think that you are hearing an echo. In that blog, we reported that the Jordanian Crown Prince had been denied entrance into Israel because he was violating the visitation agreement that had been worked out with Israeli authorities.

So what is the bottom line?

The Jordanian action was simply petty payback.

And it leaves Netanyahu with pie on his face less than two weeks before the election.

So where is Netanyahu today instead of being in Abu Dhabi? He’s off to Judea and Samaria trying to round up votes by once again ridiculously proclaiming how much he supports construction in the Jewish communities there.

Construction that he has essentially frozen since he became prime minister back in 2009.

Like your humble servant said, you have to laugh at all the shenanigans going on in this runup to the vote.
