It appears that local Druze in the village of Hatsbani just on the Lebanese side of the Lebanon-Israeli border have captured the truck carrying the portable missile launchers that fired between 10 and 21 missiles into northern Israel this morning:
It looks as if there are 21 empty missile tubes. Note the three Druze elders in their distinctive Sherwal “baggy” blue pants and white caps.
At least the Druze can be relied on to take action. By the way, according to reports, the Druze badly beat up the terrorists in the truck. Click here to see a video of the Hezbollah terrorists being dragged out of their vehicle by the Druze.

So-called “Defense Minister” Benny Gantz on Ynet yesterday
In the first place, is this really something that an Israeli official should be saying–much less the Defense Minister? To use the old idiom, “loose lips sink ships”: if we were going to attack Iran, wouldn’t it be better to have an element of surprise?
In the second place, if there’s anything that Benny Gantz is noted for it is for running his mouth at inopportune times. Who can forget his idiotic anemones speech in 2014 encouraging residents of the South to return to their homes because he said the war was over? Of course the war was not over and some Israelis who listened to Gantz got killed.
Which brings us to the third point. When Gantz was IDF Chief of Staff during the war in 2014 war, he went to extraordinary lengths not to engage the enemy–even to the point of putting our soldiers at risk. His utter passivity was one reason the war dragged on for 51 days ultimately reaching no definitive conclusion. All of our enemies–especially the Iranians–are well aware of Gantz’s reticence to act.
Fourth and finally, when Gantz says the world must act now, he is of course referring to the United States. The same Biden-led United States that announced yesterday that it is eagerly awaiting the resumption of the 7th round of negotiations with the Iranians as soon as the new Iranian president is inaugurated. Gantz is apparently out of the loop.

More missiles into northern Israel . . .
As you can see from the Breaking News Ticker above, missiles (between 10 and 21) were again fired into northern Israel today in what is becoming a daily occurrence. Some of the missiles were intercepted by an Iron Dome battery. Click here to see a 10 second video of the Iron Dome firing.
It remains unclear who actually fired the missiles though the seizure of the truck should make it clearer. As we pointed out in yesterday’s blog, no missile would be fired without Hezbollah’s permission.
Israel’s Security Cabinet is currently meeting trying to figure out what to do.
While that meeting is going on, the IDF has already issued this bizarre statement: “Hezbollah deliberately fired into open space; we have no interest in escalation.” In other words, it is apparently fine with our utterly passive IDF if Hezbollah shoots missiles into Israel and sends thousands running to bomb shelters.
Is there any other military in any country in the world that would issue such a statement?
The IDF is currently lobbing artillery shells into the Mt. Dov area.
Talk about bizarre . . .
It was revealed this morning that a 22-year-old woman from here in Ashdod, Ariela Turgeman, has been indicted today after trying to illegally smuggle three of her Arab husband’s relatives through the military checkpoint at Moshav Shekef a week ago.
When soldiers stopped her because she had no permit to pass through, she gunned her engine and hit one of the soldiers before being stopped. Turgeman was arrested on the spot.
Her lawyer had this to say this morning: “Even if her judgment was wrong, there is a great gap between that and criminal intent. Her behavior was out of fear and panic.”
Can you believe this nonsense?
Her judgement was wrong? She was committing a criminal act and was trying to avoid being caught smuggling possible terrorists into Israel.

And again, we don’t know how true this is. Nevertheless, if we take a look at the numbers below as to the number of unvaccinated people who are ending up in Israeli hospitals with Covid-19, and you will get an idea where Bennett is coming from.

3,843 new cases of Corona were confirmed yesterday.
The positive test rate was 3.79%.
There are 27,525 Israelis with active cases of Corona (we don’t know how many of these people were vaccinated or not).
253 Israelis are hospitalized in serious condition, 52 of which are in critical condition on ventilators.
6,509 Israelis have died.
Extremely interesting Corona facts from the Health Ministry late last night:
As of last night, Israel had 243 Covid patients who are in serious condition:
No one under 30 years old is in serious condition.
5 patients are between 30-39 years of age: all were unvaccinated.
15 patients are between 40-49 years of age: 14 were unvaccinated, 1 was fully vaccinated.
19 patients are between 50-59 years of age: 11 were unvaccinated, 8 was fully vaccinated.
45 patients are between 60-69 years of age: 18 were unvaccinated, 1 had received one dose, 27 were fully vaccinated.
73 patients are between 70-79 years of age: 16 were unvaccinated, 3 had received one dose, 57 were fully vaccinated.
64 patients are between 80-89 years of age: 12 were unvaccinated, 1 had received one dose, 52 were fully vaccinated.
22 patients are 90 years of age and over: 2 were unvaccinated, 2 had received one dose, 18 fully vaccinated.
What conclusions can we draw from these statistics?
*If you are under 30, you have little to worry about personally in terms of severity; however, you may be a spreader to people who are older.
*If you are older than 60, being fully vaccinated with two doses is no guarantee of not becoming infected (of the 210 patients over 60 in the above statistics, 153 were fully vaccinated).
*It is probably a good idea for those over 60 to receive a 3rd dose.
*We say “probably” because remember that 5.4 million Israelis have been fully vaccinated and only 243 are in serious condition–73 of whom had not been vaccinated at all. The current numbers–which may change dramatically in the coming days–indicate that fully vaccinated people have an extremely small chance of becoming seriously ill.
