Ludicrous Quote of the Day:

Gadi Eizenkot, IDF Chief of Staff, speaking at the Security Cabinet meeting last night about the situation in Gaza and possible “ceasefire deal.”
The IDF cannot stop Hamas and Islamic Jihad missiles and mortars from being fired at communities in southern Israel.
For the last 140 days, the IDF has not been able to stop incendiary kites and balloons launched by terrorists in Gaza from burning tens of thousands of acres of forests, agricultural fields, and nature preserves.
And the IDF is ready for every scenario?
What a sad joke.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
On the Gaza border:
Kissufim, Be’eri, Alumim, Zikim, Moshav Tekuma and on and on. These were some of the places ravaged by fires yesterday.
A new type of incendiary balloon launched from Gaza yesterday–this one held by an IDF officer landed in Moshav Tekuma.
If the missiles, rockets, kites, and balloons are not enough, it appears that the IDF is now concerned about Hamas terrorists infiltrating across the maritime border into Zikim (just south of Ashkelon). Here’s a picture of a new maritime “barricade” that is being built:
Gaza is to the right of the fence that runs out into the water.
In Judea and Samaria:
**Israel Police, Shin Bet, Border Police, and IDF forces all participated in overnight raids that captured 13 Palestinians wanted for terror attacks on civilians and soldiers.
**Umm Safa, Tekoa, Qalqilya, Hawara, Hizma: these were a few of the places at which Israelis were attacked yesterday with “rocks” and Molotovs.
So where have the frantic “negotiations” between Hamas, Fatah, Egypt, and Israel led? . . .
Apparently, as we have reported in the last few days, Israel is preparing to sign a “ceasefire” agreement with Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
In other words, Hamas and Islamic Jihad will stop firing missiles, mortars, kites, and balloons at us, and the IDF will continue doing the same….nothing. As the last few months have shown, Israel is in a perpetual ceasefire.
Of course, Hamas and Islamic Jihad will reap the rewards of their terror as always with more money poured into Gaza which will allow the terrorists to build more tunnels and develop more advanced missiles.
And we are going to agree to it all.

The continuing saga of the “Druze” solidarity rally Saturday night . . .
Two days ago, we reported on israelstreet that the “Druze” rally had been taken over by–and was being funded by–a New Israel Fund front organization “We Make A Change.”
That was confirmed yesterday by Jabar Habish, one of the main promoters of the rally who was asked where the money for the rally came from: “Yes, it came from a left wing organization “We Make A Change.”
Last night came the unbelievable news that our own Justice Ministry had contracted with “We Make A Change” to be involved in various activities sponsored by the Ministry.
But this morning, a spokesman for the Justice Ministry says that the Ministry had been unaware when the contract with “We Make A Change” was signed that “We Make A Change” is a political organization–and that the contract would now be cancelled.
How is it even conceivable that the Justice Ministry could not have been aware that “We Make A Change” is political?
The Trump Administration and the PLO . . .
It came to light yesterday that in the past few weeks, the U.S. has given tens of millions of dollars to the PLO.
Just how many “tens of millions” is open to question as some reports have put the number as high as $61 million (as reported by Ha’aretz) and others as low as $35 million. In any case, the money is supposed to be used to “strengthen security coordination between the Palestinian security services and Israel.”
Of course we all know where most of the money will go . . .
Straight into the pocket of Mahmoud Abbas.
But before we blame the Trump Administration for this doling out of American taxpayer money, remember that it is the IDF and the Netanyahu government that have been pushing the American Administration to make the payments.

Five Pieces of Good News From Israel Today!
1. Dr. Aziz Asbar, a director of the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center–and the man most responsible for the Syrian chemical weapons program and development of ballistic missiles in conjunction with Iranian and North Korean “scientists”–was blown to pieces by a car bomb in the city of Masyaf yesterday morning.

3. The Trump Administration reimposed the first group of sanctions on Iran this morning after withdrawing from Iran Nuclear Weapons Appeasement Agreement back in May.
4. The average price of watermelon dropped in Israel yesterday from 6.90 shekels a kilo to 4.9 shekels per kilo–meaning that an average watermelon will cost about $14 instead of $19.
Israelis love watermelon and watermelon seeds. Stands like this one can be found along almost every road.
5. Unlike most coral reserves in the world that are in severe decline, a report yesterday from the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Scientists shows that the corals along the Eilat coastline are growing at a rate of 1/2 % per year!
