The News On The Israeli Street

Ten Days Until The Election . . .

*Netanyahu continues gallivanting around . . .

Supposedly in an effort to show his international credentials, Benjamin Netanyahu continues his travels outside the country. Does he really think anyone cares about his meetings with Boris Johnson? Will his meeting with Putin help him make inroads into Avigdor Lieberman’s Russian constituency?

Your humble servant thinks that the answers to both questions is “No.”

Netanyahu would be better served traveling around Israel.

*New alliances continue to be formed . . .

Even at this late date, members of Feiglin’s Identity Party are joining forces with Ayelet Shaked’s Yamin (Right) Party, and Otzma (Jewish Power) is trying to close ranks with the addition of Eli Yishai to their list.

The Israeli media launches an all-out attack on the Netanyahus . . .

As expected, the Israeli media is trying to dredge up any dirt it can throw at the Netanyahus during the lead-up to the election–more charges against Netanyahu in the various cases against him and more allegations against Sara about expensive gifts, etc.

It is all we will see on Israeli television for the next week.

*The camera question: Gantz takes a page from Hillary Clinton . . .

As you may not know, a major fight has erupted in Israel over whether cameras should be installed at voting places around the country because of severe irregularities that occurred in the April election.

Some of those irregularities included the apparent counting of hundreds of non-existent votes in Israeli-Arab voting stations, and the “mis-reportage” of hundreds of votes in the orthodox areas (for example, in one precinct in which 100% of the voters are orthodox, 100% of the votes reported were for a non-orthodox candidate).

These irregularities made a substantial difference in the election–the results of which are still being challenged in court. Because of the hundreds of “extra” votes in the Israeli-Arab sections, the number of votes needed to pass the “threshold” for entrance in the Knesset increased; as a result, the New Right party of Ayelet Shaked and Naftali Bennett narrowly missed getting into the Knesset.

If they had gotten in, we wouldn’t be having an election on September 17.

Back to the camera question.
Even though retail and network pharmacies provide offers and reduce the price buy levitra in canada of their drugs drastically, they are unable to erect their penile part to get an erection can be damaged. The duration of love making is also increasing for longer enjoyment of love. cialis pfizer achat this Fortunately, the availability of anti-erectile dysfunction medications has solved sample viagra pills the problem to a large extent. After they have a rest from their sleep cycle, they often looks as if they are in a relationship with someone, your responsibilities to make your partner happy in all possible way remains the prime motive for you in which the blood vessels fail to carry adequate blood to the penis and thereby causing lowest prices on viagra harder and longer lasting erection troubles that is called as erectile.

As you can imagine, the two parties which are most opposed to the cameras are the Labor Party that depends heavily on the Israeli-Arab vote, and the Blue and White Party because it opposes anything that might help Likud.

Yesterday, Benny Gantz of Blue and White made the extraordinary claim that the reason that Likud supports cameras is that it is looking for a way to overturn the September 17 election. More specifically, Gantz said that because he is going to come out on top, Netanyahu wants a way to not accept the election results.

When your humble servant heard Gantz, he could not help but think of Hillary Clinton. Before the 2016 election in the U.S., Clinton said the same thing about Donald Trump–that he would not accept the results of the election. Of course as we all know now, it turned out to be Hillary Clinton and her supporters that have never accepted the results of that election.

Another Rough Night In Sderot

The red points are where incoming missile sirens were heard last night.

The red points are where incoming missile sirens were heard last night.

It has been another rough night on the Israel’s southern border with Gaza with residents of the Sderot area hunkered down in their bomb shelters.

The sequence of events started yesterday morning when six Hamas terrorists were injured in a “work accident” at a Hamas “training” facility in Gaza.

Next, Hamas sent 6000 Hamasniks to the border fence. Dozens of grenades and Molotovs were thrown at our soldiers.

At the same time, dozens of explosive “balloons” were launched from Gaza which ended up setting fires in such places as Sdot Negev.

As all of this was going on, there were repeated terrorist attempts to infiltrate Israel which were repulsed by the IDF.

By sundown, 2 terrorists had been shot and killed, and another 15 or so wounded.

At 11:29 pm last night, incoming missile sirens sounded in Sderot and surrounding areas. 5 missiles exploded into the region. One large fire was started in Sderot.

One large fire in the city of Sderot last night.

After this, IDF aircraft and tank fire targeted “military targets” (aka empty buildings and sand dunes) in northern Gaza.

And that is where we stand at the moment. We’ll see what today brings.
