Has Eli Cohen’s Body Been Found?

We will keep this blog today very short.
Reports are circulating that Eli Cohen’s body has been found by Russian soldiers in the cemetery in Yarmuk–a neighborhood of Damascus.
The reports suggest that intense negotiations are ongoing–part of which involved the release of the Israeli woman last week and the two terrorists from an Israeli prison.
This is not the first time that such reports have surfaced in Israel since the heroic Cohen was executed in Syria for spying on May 18, 1965.
We can only hope the reports are accurate this time.
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
