As impressive as the B-52 and F-15 are, equally so are the Jewish communities they are passing over.

The F-15 farthest to the left is over Singil; between that aircraft and F-15 next to it are Maaleh Levona (in the foreground), and Rehelim and Nofei Nehemia (further back).

Under the right wing of the bomber is Givat Harel with its vineyards.

Coming up under the nose and body of the bomber are Eli, Shiloh, Shvut Rachel, and ancient biblical Shiloh which was once home of the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant.

Thank you to Yesha Council director-general Yigal Dilmoni for identifying the communities.

Two Farcical Comments of the Day at the U.S. Pentagon Press Briefing

1.  “We want to make sure we know who is responsible for the rocket attack on the Ain Al-Assad base.”

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin dissembling in the face of an obvious Iranian attack 4 days ago at the Al-Assad base in Iraq–so that the U.S will not be forced to respond again.

2. At the same press conference we had this exchange between a journalist and Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby . . .

Journalist: Were the tactics used in the attack similar to previous attacks by Iranian militias?

Kirby:  We have long said honestly what the dangers of these rocket attacks carried out by Shi’ite militia are.

Journalist: If I may say so, when you say Shi’ite-backed militias, do you mean Shi’ite militias supported by Iran?

Kirby: I mean Shi’ite-backed militias.

Journalist: What does that mean?

Kirby: I mean Shi’ite-backed militia.

Your humble servant doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry as the Biden “Defense” team falls all over itself not to call an Iranian attack an Iranian attack.

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona (Covid-19) update . . .

Please note that these numbers encompass from 4 pm Friday to 8 pm today (Sunday):

800,721 Israelis have been confirmed with the virus since the pandemic began last March.

There are 4,256 newly confirmed cases.

724 are in critical condition—an increase of 34

210 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—a decrease of 8

5,861 have died–an increase of 27

There are currently 40,650 active Corona cases in Israel.

An estimated 4.9 million have now received at least one dose of vaccine. 90% of Israeli adults over the age of 16 have now received at least one dose of vaccine.

The positive test rate today was 4.3%.

As we predicted on Friday, more than 800,000 Israelis have now tested positive for Corona which means approximately 1 in every 10 has had or has the virus.

Billions of dollars flood into Tehran . . .

In addition to the billions of dollars of previously reported blackmail money that South Korea is now paying to Iran, it was announced yesterday that the U.S. has approved the Iraqi purchase of $1 billion dollars worth of gas from Tehran.

What a difference six weeks make. Back just before President Trump left office, the Iranians were teetering on the edge of economic disaster; now the money is pouring in from all directions.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Another Sad Day For Justice In Israel

For the past few years, your humble servant has been continuously writing about one miscarriage of justice after another. In virtually every case, an Israeli was detained, arrested, tried, and convicted of a “crime” he or she did not do, while Palestinians who attempt to murder or murder Israelis are given sweet plea deals that let them off with a handslap.

Yesterday saw two more instances.

Several weeks ago, a Jewish man who was on the Har HaBeit in Jerusalem (the Temple Mount which is supposedly under complete Israeli sovereignty) saw Muslim children playing soccer next to the Kipat HaSela–the Dome of the Rock which houses the holiest place in Judaism. The man, who like all Jews was being “escorted” by Jerusalem Police and police from the Islamic Wakf, had the courage to shout at the children to stop playing and respect the sanctity of the place.

He was immediately taken into custody, and this morning received notice that he is now banned from the Har HaBeit for the next 5 months.

Even more egregious was the decision of a military court in Samaria today.

That court issued a sentence which was part of an absurd plea deal worked out between the ultra-left wing IDF military prosecutors and terrorist Khaled Kued.

Kued (variously spelled Koud) was convicted in December of last year of membership in the PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine), and “failure to prevent an offense by knowing about the intention of his friend to carry out an offense and not reporting it.”

That “offense” was the horrific murder of Rina Shnerb, the young girl who died in a bombing at the spring near Dolev. The bottom half of her torso was blown apart by the IED which was remotely detonated as she walked by.

Brimming with confidence and endowed with insatiable curiosity, Rina was blown apart by a bomb while walking to a spring with her family.

Brimming with confidence and endowed with insatiable curiosity, Rina was blown apart by a bomb while walking to a spring with her family.

Not only was Rina murdered but her brother and father were seriously wounded.

What plea deal did the prosecutors and court agree to?

20 months in prison.

Here’s what the Shnerb family said after the sentence was handed down:

“The court’s decision to approve the lenient sentence that the military prosecution sought . . . shames the soldiers who work nights and nights to stop the terrorists,  and [it] significantly harms the State of Israel.

The terrorist knew of his friend’s intention to carry out an attack and could have saved Rina and prevented the wounds to her brother and father.

Instead of sending a clear message that involvement in terrorism will be met with severe and painful punishment, the court decision sends a message of forgiveness while prioritizing the interests of terrorists over the rights of victims, those who were and those who will come. This is a sad day . . .”

Indeed, it is a sad day–not unlike so many other days before.
