The Quote of the Day

“The Palestinians’ march to the Hague Tribunal is an own goal that will distance them from any political achievement. The UN’s intention to allow this will only harm stability in the region and the ability to reach understandings in the future.”

Benny Gantz, soon to be replaced “Defense” Minister commenting on the Palestinians going to the International Criminal Court.

I’m sure you remember, dear readers, that Benny Gantz visited Abu Mazen (aka Mahmoud Abbas) in Ramallah and then invited his friend to his home in Rosh Haayin earlier this year.

During that latter visit, Gantz unveiled a long series of concessions to the PLO in return for which Abu Mazen promised that the PLO would not go forward with initiatives against Israel in the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

So after the PLO finished receiving all the concessions this past month, what did Abu Mazen do?

He went straight to the United Nations and the International Criminal Court.

It is the same old story of an utterly naive leftist Israeli leader totally deluded by the Palestinians. Thank goodness that Benny Gantz is on his way out.

The News on the Israeli Street

The war in Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem . . .

IDF soldiers captured wanted terrorist Muhammad Abu Zina in Kabatia near Jenin yesterday. Just released from prison in August, Zina immediately returned his role in financing and arming Islamic Jihad in northern Samaria.

In other operations, IDF, Shin Bet, and MGB fighters arrested 5 wanted persons in Hussan and Dahariya overnight. Numerous automatic weapons were also seized.

There was a ramming incident at the Hizma Checkpoint last night. The terrorist was captured. Miraculously, no Israelis were wounded:

Palestinian terrorists attacked with IEDs, Molotovs, and “rocks” on Road 55 at Jinspot, at Kedumim (bus driver wounded in the face), on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road near Al Aruv, Singil, Luban A-Sharqiya, near Huwara, and at a dozen other locations.

New government negotiations . . .

It is pointless to report on what is going on between Netanyahu and his Coalition allies.

For example, the inept Israeli media has ridiculously reported that Bezalel Smotrich is going to be the new Defense Minister, the new Finance Minister, and the new Religious Affairs minister, and the new Finance and Religious Affairs Minister.

The fact is that no one knows which ministry or ministries Likud’s partners will receive and which will be filled by Likud legislators.

The American elections . . .

Your humble servant has been silent on the elections to this point while waiting for the results to come in.

As of this morning, it appears that the U.S. Senate will remain in Democrat Party hands.

However, which party will control the House of Representatives remains in doubt. Relatively speaking, support for Israel is weaker in the House than in the Senate because of the increasing number of Democrat “progressives” holding seats.

For that reason, we at OneIsrael sincerely hope that the Republicans can make it to the magic 218 number.

TODAY’S BLOG

300,000 Rounds Of Ammunition

It was revealed yesterday that more than 100,000 bullets were stolen from the Znovar IDF base near Katzrin over the last three months.

This follows another 100,000 bullets that were stolen by terrorists from the IDF Shveta base in the Negev, and yet another 100,000 that were stolen from the Ein Zeit IDF base in the north. Even more than this, more than 100 M16s were stolen during this same period.

300,000 rounds of ammo.

No wonder terrorists in Jenin, Shechem, and all over Judea and Samaria can engage in lengthy firefights with our soldiers and daily shooting attacks against our citizens.

Where is the IDF General Command? Why haven’t safeguards been put in place to stop thefts like this from happening?

Perhaps it is because that same General Command is more interested in repeatedly throwing our soldiers under the bus.

The entire situation is unbelievable and outrageous.
