The Photo, Video, and Message of the Day

David Stern (former U.S. Marine and Israeli citizen of Itamar), speaking from his hospital bed yesterday. In the attack on his family in Hawara, he was shot in the head and arm but still managed to shoot the terrorist.

Click here to watch the 1 min 30 second video (he speaks in Hebrew).

Stern’s message: “After ten bullets, the terrorist ran away. I moved a few hundred meters with the car, stopped and put a tourniquet and a bandage on myself. I want to say thank you to God, to all the people of Israel, for the support. We must return the roadblocks, we cannot continue like this. What will happen to the next family?”

The News on the Israeli Street

The war in Judea and Samaria.

Shooting attacks:

Palestinian terrorists engaged in an intense firefight with IDF troops in Shechem.

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers in Aqabat Jaber.

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on the IDF outpost near Migdalim.

IED, Molotov, and “rock” attacks:

The back seat of the car after the window was smashed. Note how the glass is on both sides. It was just lucky that no children were there.

The back seat of the car at Singil after the window was smashed. Note how the glass is on both sides. It was just lucky that no children were there. The driver was wounded in the neck by flying glass.

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli motorists north of Ofra from the direction of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah at Singil (female driver wounded), on Road 55 near Azzun, between Ariel and Tapuach near Marda, at Nahal Kana between Emanuel and the small Yakir Junction, and at about two dozen other locations.

What really happened at Netanya?

A week ago, OneIsrael reported on a thwarted stabbing attack at Netanya. In the aftermath of that attack, the police were loathe to call it a terror attack, and in fact doubted that an attack took place because they could find no “victims.”

Now, however, following the publication of these photos, it is absolutely clear that a terror attack occurred:

Note that the woman was pushing a baby carriage with her son beside her when the terrorist lunged at her and stabbed her in the shoulder.

Note that the woman was pushing a baby carriage with her son beside her when the terrorist lunged at her and tried to stab her in the shoulder.

Miraculously the knife blade did not penetrate the thick layers of the woman’s coat and she continued on after the terrorist ran away.

The terrorist has now been captured.

The war in the neighborhood . . .

As usual when Israel attacks Syria, we were awakened at various times during the night by the sounds of low flying aircraft overhead heading north.

The target was, again, Aleppo–specifically, a number of sites belonging to Iranian terrorists in the area of the Aleppo military airport.

Not surprisingly because President Biden believes that he has reduced Israel to a vassal state, the State Department summoned the Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. to “clarify” the law passed in the Knesset two nights ago that lifted the prohibition on Israelis returning to the 4 communities in northern Samaria forcibly and unilaterally evacuated by Israel in the 2005 Disengagement with Gaza.

This summoning came as the U.S. State Department Deputy spokesman Vendat Patel harshly castigated Israel for “breaking its commitments” to the U.S.

Patel continued his rant: “The move is particularly provocative and counter-productive to efforts to restore some measure of calm as we head into Ramadan (which begins tonight), Passover, and Easter.”

To which Israel’s Minister of Settlements Orit Struck fired back: “I suggest Americans not talk about honoring agreements . . . [considering those] that were not honored by Obama when he supposedly could not find the ‘Bush letter’ given to Ariel Sharon in return for our unilateral Disengagement . . .”

Struck should have added Biden to Obama in this context.

Lest we forget, then President Bush entered into a secret deal with Sharon which allowed for growth in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and disavowed the 1949 Armistice Lines (aka the June 4, 1967 lines) as the basis of borders of a possible Palestinian state–in return for Israel’s disengagement from Gaza and the 4 communities in Samaria.

As soon as Obama became President and Biden Vice President, they claimed there was no deal between Bush and Sharon.

And so it goes in Israel this lovely Spring morning . . .
