The Quote of the Day

“The left is ready to give us everything to leave the Coalition, but we go with the right and the traditional public at the behest of our Council of Elders. I prefer the right that recognizes the people of Israel than the left that does not recognize Judaism.”

Moshe Gafni, a leader of the United Torah Judaism Party speaking at the Ruh Haim yeshiva yesterday.

As we all know, the leftist Opposition is doing all it can to break up the Netanyahu Coalition–even to the point of offering everything under the sun to the orthodox parties that they despise.

Gafni’s analysis is spot on. Many of those in the leftist opposition parties see Judaism as an anathema and fervently desire a secular state devoid of all religion. As you may recall, we reported a few days ago on the comments of a candidate for the Tel Aviv City Council who espouses precisely that.

TODAY’S BLOG

The 75th Birthday Celebrations Continue!

It has been a glorious day in Israel with Israelis by the thousands flocking to parks, seashores, and air force bases. The IAF has done its usual flyover of Israeli cities; however, unusually, this year Israeli planes overflew communities in Judea and Samaria.

Tomorrow is an important day. Organizers are trying to bring 1,000,000 people to Jerusalem to demonstrate for the government and the legal reforms. How successful they will be remains to be seen.

In the meantime, here are a few more photos from today:
